I think they are maybe matching the Running Warehouse deal, but that ran out of sizes very quickly. These are rarely discounted and lots of sizes available at time of posting.
Novablast also 20% off.

Yeah not cheap, but an extremely popular shoe, often out of stock & widely regarded as one of the best all-rounder training shoes at the moment. Novablast is a more affordable alternative.
It's not for you, sweaty 💅
Great job on having no idea what you’re talking about
Personally they are by far my favourite running shoe ever. Awesome for long runs. Would be a great race day option for anyone targeting eg 4 hour marathon. Got 700km out of my first pair and well on to the second. $256 is a bargain.
I always get 10,000km before I get mine serviced!
10k or 1 year which ever comes first.
No, no it's not.
Wow its back in stock, there was a global shortage about 3 months ago and i had to settle for Novablasts.
Thx OP. Got a black pair. Would have preferred the other variant but glad I got it at a discount.
Overrated IMO. Good but I find cheaper shoes like New Balance 1080 and Rebel V4 more comfortable. These are quite loud and clunky. Good but I paid $320 for the Paris colourway and wouldn’t do that again.
If you are a runner, you can't compare the two shoes you mentioned to the Superblasts, even the Rebel and the 1080 are completely different shoes from each other.
As a walking shoe, yes, the Novablasts are probably a better buy as they are softer and cheaper.
Seems you have different priorities if the only thing you mentioned was comfort lol
Rebel V4 is widely reported to lose its bounce after only 100km and they go flat for some people after like 200km. Not even in the same league as SB2 IMO.
NBs fuelcell shoes always feel great in store but are rubbish long term. That's what they get for making them essentially EVA with a touch of PEBA.
Agree completely. I've gone through three pairs of SB2s now, each clocking close to 1,000km.
Sb2 purely for running ? Can you walk or go the gym in them on the odd occasion ?
I found the rebel to be unstructured.
The SB2 is (profanity) loud though. Like suppppper loud
Agreed. Much prefer the Saucony speed and on cloudmonster hyper. Still a good shoe of course but nowhere near the hype or cost
I usually grab Asics from DFO when they're ~50% off, wonder if these would be on sale there any time soon.
No there won't be - this shoe sells itself
Guess I'll stick to the GT-xxxx's which are regularly discounted at DFO and do the trick for me.
If you wear the GT then these are not for you, as the GT is for people with stability needs.
Probably not soon
DFO outlets usually get the previous models and stuff that's being cleared out of their regular stores. So, probably around the time the next model drops, give or take a month. The problem with popular stuff is it often clears out with lesser discounts, like 20% off here at the regular stores, so it doesn't make its way to DFO.
i don't even think novablasts make it to dfo - seem to sell out fairly quickly
Between these and the Novablasts Asics are pretty much in control of the running market.
Adidas Adizeros are the only ones that really come close.
None are ever really on closeout/sale due to demand
hv never seen the high end models dropping by 50%
Can I get 2,000km out of these road running? 61kg male.
Yes, and a soft tissue injury
Bargain!
Depends on your pain threshold since most runners will be pretty much worn out at 500kmish and probably have no tread patterns left by 1000.
Pain threshold. Hahaha… That doesn't sound good! Cost more to replace a knee than to replace the shoes!
Also depends on your weight and your run style. I've at 550km on my Superblast and still have a lot of life to give. 750km on a pair of Hoka Mach 6 and still going well.
That and the shoe use case/ surface. I'd expect trail runners on dirt trails to get substantially more distance than the soft compound runners on pavement.
Great shoe - I have 2 x pairs in rotation with Hoka Cliftons.
Also note - if you are a registered health professional (AHPRA), physios, podiatrists etc can register to the ASICS professional buyers program and receive 3 x 35% coupons quaterly.
And doctors??
Incredible deal. Only a few months ago these were still selling out instantly every time a retailer restocked. Demand is only now beginning to subside, 12 months after their first release, and first time I've seen it discounted ever (not inc targeted coupons).
Price will seem high compared to other daily trainers, but the lifespan of this shoes midsole is top tier. I've gotten 900km out of mine, where as other dailies I tend to get 500km (+/-100km). So dollars per km is very competitive, and you get an excellent top tier race foam the whole time.
They're not even my fav daily (Evo SL for me) but it's hard not to recommend this shoe to absolutely everyone.
Thanks for the detailed experience!
I got my Puma Magnify 2 for $110 and it lasted me 1200km running and 300km walking before it started giving me knee soreness. Someone on top said SB2 cannot last 2000km 😂 which was expected, but I don't know if I can splurge $250 for a pair of runners as a single income for a family of four.
In your situation I agree, MagMax is the alternative to SB2 I like to recommend as here in Aus, Puma can be had very cheap compared to other regions, and ASICS also rarely run sales.
It's why MagMax didn't really gain traction (sorry for the pun) in US as it's priced much closer to SB2 there.
I'd also say the one weakness for SB2 is light and smaller runners, for them they'll feel more firm and bulky.
Both MagMax and EVO SL can be had <$200 as very good SB2 alternatives, depending on preference.
Thank you so much!! I've been eyeing the MagMax for it to go on sale again. I haven't seen EVO SL on sale yet. I was tempted to get it for ¥18,000 -10% GST when I was in Japan, but still kinda $$ for a daily trainer. :')
@ChairmanMeow: It's hard to see the Evo SL on sale, but if you can get it discounted I would take it over the Magmax as they are a lot more versatile and can handle different paces and the Magmax is a little bulky and heavy for anything other than long/recovery runs.
@ChairmanMeow: Magmax can be had off Puma website for sub $100 on sale.
You can feel the heft though.
Which runners do you think are good looking? Certainly can't remember many from 10 years ago
Also, if you think it's Zoomers who are dropping $320 on running trainers then you might be surprised if you check the demos of your local races.
Which runners do you think are good looking? Certainly can't remember many from 10 years ago
Personal taste is personal, but Adidas Ultraboost from 5 years ago in either all White or all Black looked like shoes. These days they seem to all look like UFOs.
I reckon these are some of the best looking ones on the market
Kayano is a stability shoe. This is a supertrainer. Totally different shoes.
Err… Stability shoe you mean. Not necessarily arch support. I have high arch but I do fine on Nimbus.
Actually anything lighter running shoe does - they are heavy and clunky, and more of a stability shoe.
Superblast 2 is the only running shoe you need. However I still bought the Gel Nimbus 27 during the last rebel sale… and the Novablast 5 ATC just now…
Great shoes, super bouncy and comfortable once broken in.
Pity my bunion feet hated them for the better part of 2 months.
I don't have much experience with shoes. Looking for something comfortable as a daily walking shoe. Would this be an overkill?
yeah definitely overkill and probably not very good for walking. Gel Kayano is meant to be good for walking, or Hoka Bondi maybe?
I would say superblast 2 not a good walking or standing around shoe. Gel nimbus 27 is pretty plush and stable, and Novablast 5 quite foamy so both might be better for what you're after. Hoka Bondi 9 has a bit of a roll and not as soft but still reasonably comfy for walking IMO. But you should ry them on in store and maybe buy elsewhere if cheaper
Thanks for the suggestions! Will try it out in stores.
Daily walking shoe you want NB1080 V14, most comfortable walking (and running) shoe i've used
not a great walking shoe - would suggest something softer, look at new balance 1080's or gel nimbus'
Just bought for $320 fml
Phenomenal shoe - recommend
damn i bought for $271 :(
I'll give it a go, what's a depth like on these ones?
in case you want other colours, paceathletic.com is doing 20% off with code AFTERPAYDAY25
Thanks, picked up the purple pair
Thanks - used gift cards via cashrewards (6% off) with click and collect ($5 off) so all up paid $235.
Thanks for the heads up about the gift cards! Just did the same :)
ASICS Megablast is expected to be released at the Sydney Marathon this year, which replaces the Superblast 2.
There’s a Superblast 3 announced for March 2026, so the Megablast and Sonicblast woukd be in addition to Superblast.
mate .. follow the new release calendar on solereview.com .. think you made an error
Do these come in 2e wide?
No, only the standard D width unfortunately. They're unisex too so no narrower widths either
I love Asics, but the mesh recently tore on my 1 year old Gel Keyano pair. Not sure if that's a common problem with these mesh type of shoes?
Ran my marathon in this and did most of my training in them. Highly recommend
That is a lot of beans. I'll stick with my Asics Gel Contend 9 4E width. It is only $80 and replace every 6 months. Wish I had the money for these bad boys! With kids we spending $500 per year on asics.
You can get another $5 off for collection. It prompted me to click and collect to get this extra discount. Promo code may be 5OFF if doesnt come up.
I have a pair of these Asics - very comfortable. However, and I'm not sure why, they create a lot of static shocks. So whenever I touch anything metal while wearing them, I get a zapped - it's not fun
I really love mine which I bought about 6 mths ago .. do i need another pair?
yup
Are they sold out? Currently overseas and saying no stock
Not available for pickup or delivery in SA
Needed to size up half a size.
TTS was a bit tight for me. Especially since I'll be doing longer runs in them.
True. They are running half-size small in my case, too. Most likely, will return my size 13 (largest SB2) and order size 14 2E Kayano 32 instead.
Wow !!!
That's expensive…
