Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has used such service. I have a Toyota Corolla hatchback 2009 due for logbook service soon.
Have you ever used this mobile mechanic service before? What are they like? better than bringing your car to the garage? I am thinking of booking via autoguru.
Mobile Mechanic for a Major Logbook Service (120k). Is It Worth Using Their Service?

I see. Maybe I could contact the business directly?
To the contrary.
I checked out a price from AutoGuru for a mobile mechanic who has done services for us before.
I approached him directly and asked for a quote for a service and was surprised to get a higher price.
I said it was cheaper on AutoGuru, so he matched it.
How much are they quoting you, vs how much do Toyota charge? Their minor services are quite competitive at <$300.
Autoguru mostly quotes under $400. Something like between $350-$380.
How much do Toyota charge?
How much is the service with the mobile mechanic?
How much is the service at another mechanic?
How much is it worth to you to not have to drive to a mechanic and then go collect later?Other mechanics have been $500+
That's why I'm researching whether I should go for mobile mechanic this time.
Engine oil + filter + brake fuild change?
Mobile mechnics are more than capabke of doing a basic oil change service in your driveway. Where they arent as effective is for some jobs like a clutch replacement where having a hoist and other stands makes life easier for the mechnic.
We use a mechanic who comes to our home for all our cars.
Sometimes he says, need to go somewhere to get the car up on a hoist this time.
Sometimes he says "your car needs (a radiator, for example). Take it to a radiator specialist place as they can do a better/ cheaper job than I can".
My brother uses one for his Mazda 3. Comes to his house on a Friday when he WFH and does it all at the house. The mechanic has picked up a few things/issues.
Don't try and use something like AutoGuru. Find someone directly because you could get it cheaper and a better service. AutoGuru will take a cut.
