How are the 3 lighting modes selected @lexifure? Unless I missed it on the website somehow, I can't see anything on the controller that allows for each mode to be selected.
Most likely triggered by double tapping on the power button which cycles modes.
The Backlight button is on the bottom of the remote controller. So you can choose front light only, back light only or front light + back light.
Thanks for the info. That's a design flaw for me personally. Mostly because I'd want to apply 3M tape or double-sided velcro to hold the controller in place on the desk. Bummer.
Can you use multiple modes at the same time? e.g. can the front and back lights be turned on simultaneously? And if so, I'm guessing it would be the same colour temps for both?
Totally get it:) But if you ever need a light bar, there are models on the website that don’t come with a remote controller. Hope that helps!
@lexifure: I kinda want the remote though :-P I've got one of the original Benq light bars, and I was going to gift it to a family member as I prefer the ability to add more ambient/bias lighting for the back of the monitor.
@KangaDrew: There are RGB backlight options available, and the light bar can be controlled with or without a remote. I think BenQ also makes monitor light bars with backlighting. You can check out some comparison videos to see the differences :)

Bought the curved version off Amazon for $84. The control knob didn't work out of the box, instructions were bad and in broken English, support on the website was barely existent. Returned promptly.
