Does anyone know if this is coated in silicone?

    • +1

      Yes. But it’s pfas free…

      • Actually I may or may not be incorrect, it’s the greener baking paper that I have. It’s that one that o can confirm as toluene free silicone.

    • +1

Pardon my ignorance, is that good or no good?

      • +4

According to a 5 second google search. Yes, yes it is.

        • Thank you for doing the hard yards 🥹

You might want to grab this one?

      • +1

        That one has silicone.

        • +1

Oh right, that green product seems quite pointless for twice the price. Considering this one is already compostable.

          • +2

@hamza23: But it has a picture of a butterfly and a little blurb about helping you take a step towards a greener future…

  • Prefer the aldi one as it's wider
But for the price difference… Hmmm

    • +1

The Aldi’s one is too wide for my use (lining baking tray, air fryer etc) and I prefer using their longer rolls as they’re narrower so less wastage. However, people said Aldi’s one is not as good as it used to, it sticks.

      • If baking paper sticks, just scrunch it up, then flatten it again.

  • Looking at price tracker, this goes on sale for $6 every 1 to 2 weeks @ Coles

    • Coles trend shows the last time was 2/7/25 and if I remember correctly that was online only.

This paper is very poor quality. The only thing it has going for it is that it doesn't catch on fire in the over. I have a half a dozen attempts at biscuits, brownies and cakes, greased and ungreased and everything sticks. Everything sticks no matter what you do. They could have piles of it for free at the checkout and i still wouldn't touch it.

I wonder how many people upvoting the deal or downvoting me have used it. They can't have.

        • +1

I've just now checked my morning newsletter and seen this deal. Have a +.

My banana/blackberry loaf will be done shortly. I'd be happy to photograph my non-stuck bottom (ooh-err) and sides after it cools (about 1400 today).

I've never had any sticking with cakes or zucchini slice (flour/eggs etc, a medium batter).
Wife's Anzac biscuits have never stuck either.

All our recipes contain melted butter or oil — could that be it?

Here you go Doyen, I took these at 1400. The baking pyrex is visible — it's irrelevant as paper was used. Plus, no matter what I used previously with cooking spray or buttered surfaces, they were my bad old sticky days.

I was sick of being denied all the brown but for the top. So I started using baking paper about a year ago.

Baked @ 180C conventional oven 1 hr. Removed and allowed to bench cool in the pyrex. Only removed two hours later — room temp — for the pics.

You'll see a little brown on the paper. That's in a fold where some batter managed to isolate itself from the main loaf. It comes down to how skillful / patient I am when folding for neatness. I was rushed this morning!

  • Good timing.. Aldi 90cm lasted a while .. now they stop selling their 90cm roll so need to get two of these for airfryer and baking
