  • This or Pixel 9a?

    • +9

      This

    • Pixel 9a is shit

    • Pixel 9a is $687 at Good Guys with Price Beat + $60 off using voucher PAYDAY down to $627.

More than $200 cheaper, just have to decide if it is worth the extra $200 for s25

  • +11

If this is helpful to anyone I just paid $548.10 on the regular Samsung site after asking for a 10% voucher via chat and then trading my S22 128GB. ($190 + $200 trade in bonus).

    • Where did you find a trade in bonus? Can't see anything on their site

      • Just follow the bouncing ball on the shopping cart page.

        • +1

I don't see the bonus for S25 either. Only available for tablets and watches from what I can see. Even confirmed with chat.

    • +2

Yeah my S23 128gb is showing about $530 trade-in value, which is crazy.

Stuck though, there's always offers on the new model when they release which brings them down

      • How can I find the trade in value of my device?

Never mind, found it once added in cart

    • Would this work with a cracked screen? I once returned a dell monitor that didn't work but still got the trade in price.

      • +2

Cracked screens are worth something too. Receive bonus credit towards the purchase of a new Galaxy device if your old device is eligible for our Trade-In Program.*

        *T&Cs apply.

    • +2

I'm always too scared to ask for discounts. Did you just flat out ask for a voucher?

Edit: I just asked and got one. What a rush!

      • Definitely ask for discount codes on Samsung site. They gave me a 15% off one a few weeks ago.

That brings the s25 256gb silver shadow down to $849.15 at the moment.

    • +1

Just confirmed on live chat, they don’t have any trade in bonus for S25

      • Apparently the bonus expired 13/8. I just discussed with a rep in the Samsung store at Westfield Chermside. The web site is still showing $555 trade-in for an S23 256GB in top condition, but it drops to $355 when you get in to the Asurion trade-in portal. So their advertising hasn't caught up to the value reduction yet :-|

    • Why do they give you a 10% voucher?

  • +5

Tempting but my S20FE is still holding on. 4 years strong.

    • This. Cant justify upgrade

    • Here I am on a Note 10+ with a smashed screen still struggling to pull the trigger on a new phone. Admittedly this is the closest I've come! hODL!

    • Same here, I do want to upgrade due to security updates ending soon but not many current offerings beat the S20 FE on features.

  • can some one help, how to get the tradein bonus?

    • Do live chat , Samsung website.

    • Add phone to cart, then follow the steps there is an option about trade in.

It will show what models you can trade in. There's not many tbh

  • How awful is the battery life on these?

  • -2

No bootloader unlock coming.. might not be important to most though worth mentioning

  • -1

Coming up as $630 for me for the S25 256gb as my S22 screen is slightly cracked at the bottom and the top third touch sensitivity doesnt work. I guess thats not too bad

    • Maybe it applied an eBay gift card balance?

      • Sorry wrong thread - this was direct with Samsung

  • Can anyone tell me the trade-in value for an s21+ ? 128gb, no cracks on screen. Works 100%

    • I just got $320 for the base S21 128gb. You pay a $190 security deposit that they refund if it's as described.

      • $320? That's pretty good. Thanks mate.

Probably won't trade up… My s21+ is doing everything I need. But it's always tempting to get the latest tech!!

  • +1

Hmm, this or hold out for the Pixel 10 next week?

    • -1

Im holding out. But i can afford to wait until Oct, Nov before my travels end of year.

I think the main camera on S25 has higher MP than the ones on 10. The ultra wide and telephoto are similar.
camera MPs are not the be all end all.

The 10pro might be more comparible.

For me, im keen with how light S25 is

      • Yeah I like the weight of it. 4000mAh battery isn't all that appealing though, even if battery life seems to be reasonable. Pixel 10's should be 25% larger; probably what gives it the ~40g of extra weight.

    • +1

      I'm holding out for 10

  • Waiting for S25+ to go on special

    • -2

Yeah, I wouldn't touch the regular model.

      • +1

Why? The base S25 is the best of the bunch this gen, I was going to get the S25 Ultra like I have for previous generations, but the difference between base and ultra is the smallest it has ever been.

Same CPU, same GPU, same RAM, same battery life, the only stand-out difference is photo quality. Faster charging and better screen would be nice, but I couldn't tell the difference in-store.

        • +1

Bigger screen I find is more suitable for my big(ger) hands. Hence + size.

  • Confirmed on live chat, they don’t have any trade in bonus for S25

  • Is this a good price for S25 256gb? Need to upgrade dad's phone, he can't even run the gumtree app on his current phone now. Don't have anything for the trade in credit, he still has his S3 and S4.

    • Wouldn't you go a cheaper Motorola for the old man, it'll likely serve his purposes and save you some deniro?

  • This or edge

    • Im tempted by the Edge.
But will be travelling soon on a roadtrip, so will need all day navigation and camera for photos.
Im sure charging while driving will be ok.

My main concern is how the battery will be after 5yrs.
The gen 2 Edge might be replaced with silicon carbide battery so that will be a better option then

So i may stick with S25

    • +1

I just got the 512gb Edge for $1220 with the commbank Yello deal and it's great.
The battery seems more than enough for a day of normal use and I really love the weight.
The old S22 feels like a brick in comparison.

Ordered and very shortly afterwards received a phone call from Samsung informing me of a delivery delay. Mine won't be posted until Aug 25th at the earliest. Keep in mind if you also order a Navy 256gb and need it sooner.

  • Do you think JB Hifi will price match it?

    • They said NO to me, as of 5 mins ago.
Reasons: unable to match eBay pricing as they are a marketplace full of individual and small business sellers, meaning it can be hard to validate the authenticity and stock sourcing of products. eBay also regularly offers additional discounts through coupon codes which go against the coupon exclusion in our policy.
I replied: It's the official Samsung Store not a third party seller.
They said: unable to match a market place like eBay. Best price offered was $977.14
So a shitty $10 off. LOL

      • I called them and got denied as well because they said it has to be the displayed price, not the price after a code is applied lol got the $977.13 as well.

Are you going to go for the ebay one?

  • +1

Found it better to trade in a s21 plus on the main Samsung website to got a $360 discount. Then asked support for a 10% discount code. So the total was $575 delivered from the 20th of August.

  • But gee that android 15 is ugly lol killing batteries, what it like on 15 ? motto all way since I changed does job. I’d consider iOS than 15

  • +1

Got $375 trade in and $200 bonus for s23+ 256gb.
After 10% discount code, and education store total price came to 314.38 for s25 256gb.

    • +1

Thought code only gave you 5% if using education store. That's a great price

  • +2

Trying to return my defective S25 is a total clown show. Before ghosting me, Samsung on eBay told me they only do order tracking and I have to go get help from their main site, but the main site support tell me they can't do anything because it's from eBay.

    ???
Escalated the issue on eBay, hope it gets sorted in 5 working days.
