Great price on this. Probably the best value card atm, especially with the 16GB VRAM model at $550.

My brother grabbed a 7800XT before the launch of this card, but got it for 730. Launch prices of the 9060 XT 16 made the 7800XT still a great deal in Aus, but prices like this make this a good buy.

Throw in a Ryzen 7700 (AE, 200-220 ish, or 7600/x for ~250 if youre unsure about AE/want local warranty), some thermalright cooler that fits your case choice, a sub 200 dollar Matx board (maybe in a Lian Li A3), some Klevv 6000mhz CL28/30 RAM and you've got a sick build. Perfect for 2560x1440 high refresh gaming for a while to come in most titles.

hmm worth upgrading from gtx1070 ?

      • +2

Yes. Big jump! And the GTX 1070 can't even play certain games anymore.. It's missing hardware level shaders.. Only important if you play such games, but I suspect it'll become more common (brother went from my old GTX 1070 Strix, funnily enough to the 7800XT, but this 9060 XT is better value at this price)

      • +1

Yeah I was a fellow holdout with a 1070 and I grabbed a 9060XT 16gb a couple of weeks ago. It's night and day, and also reminiscent of the prices of the 1070 era too :')

    • +1

That is so close to my actual build haha. Running Corsair ram at worse stock timings tho.

      aliexpress 7700 sub $250
thermalright peerless assassin cpu cooler $55
      ga-b650m gaming wifi $135
      32gb ddr5 5600 $140
      9060xt 16gb $551
      reuse ssd, case, psu

      just under $1150

      • +2

Klevv ram can be had like 150 odd 6000mhz cl30 at 32gb capacity. It's worth aiming for 6000 for ryzen imo.

      • Would getting a pre-built end up being better value?

  • +1

As preference would the 7800XT still be better than this card or is this it's successor?

    • +9

Better in raw performance, but I’d get this card for the savings + FSR4 + better RT.

    • +5

Raw performance downgrade, but cheaper, newer architecture, and also uses less power too (so easier to cool/good for Smaller cases, and doesn't require a particularly beefy power supply).

      • And has better RT and upscaling than the 7800XT.

  • +1

This is the go to option for gamers these days

    • +3

Yeah, either this or sitting on whatever you already have are the optimal choices if circumstances allow and value for money is the goal.

  • AMD Yes.

    A 5800x and 7900xt user said so.

Does this card work well with Adobe creative cloud apps?

    • Get Nvidia for productivity, AMD is competitive for gaming but pretty bad for productivity

      • Is it not usable or what? because I don’t really know about these things. These software what I’m currently using for school. If I go Nvidia, I would only be able to get the rtx 5060

    • For Adobe Creative Cloud applications, the RTX 5060 Ti generally offers better performance than the RX 9060 XT, especially in content creation tasks. However, the RX 9060 XT provides a more budget-friendly option with solid raster performance and ample memory for occasional creative work

The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB graphics card is well-suited for running Adobe Creative Cloud applications like Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop. It offers good performance for video editing, content creation, and other creative tasks, particularly at 1080p and 1440p resolutions. The 16GB of GDDR6 memory is beneficial for handling large projects and complex effects.
      Performance and Features:

The 16GB of VRAM is a significant advantage for handling large video timelines, complex compositions in After Effects, and large Photoshop files

Amazed no one else asked which app. For Photo editing and Lightroom - there's very little difference between AMD and NVIDIA, Nvidia have marginal benefits. For Premiere Pro and after affects; choose more VRAM first, then go for NVIDIA if it's your budget, and only consider AMD hgih end.

I use a 6900xt and have no issues with any of Adobe software, but I do 90% photos and for the 10% of video editing I do is normally offloaded onto my Intel Arc as neither support HW decode for h265 422 10bit (select rtx 50series can do this now)

      • +1

So far I would be using photoshop, illustrator and Indesign. My only two options is the rtx 5060 8gb or rx 9060xt 16gb

        • +5

Photoshop won't care for either AMD or NVIDIA. Similarly for InDesign and Illustrator. The big differences are only in afteraffects and premiere - so pick whatever suits your budget.

        • Based on this, get the 9060 XT 16GB for sure.

  • Perfect for PS5 Pro killer?

  • Thanks for that!
