Just play it on Gamepass PC and be done with it.
Finished Doom Eternal, but lost interest in this one very quickly.

sounds like your playthrough was…doomed…from the very beginning lol

I put hundreds of hours into Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal. Both are much better than the dark ages and infinitely more replayable in their own ways. The Dark Ages was an okay game at best. It leans way too hard into a parry system forced on you in every encounter. It's a DDR style FPS overlayed onto a doom backdrop. The way combat works like this is nowhere near the fun zone of the prior modern doom games. Also gimmick levels of flying deagon and combating mech are without depth.

The parry system is more like an overly generous QTE whenever you seen green on the screen, it doesn't care much about timing or position/distance from you at all. Level design is all samey feeling as well, pointless giant areas to slog through and lost practically all the verticality of the previous games.
