Asiana is ranked #41 according to worldairlineawards.com

So wouldn't classify it as "one of the best airlines"

    • I mean, if we're analysing it, there are over 5,000 airlines with ICAO codes, so that's pretty high. But also via worldairlineawards/skytrax, it's rated a 5-star airline. So I think the statement is fair.

Dont use OTA's. "Deal" is avaliable direct for a few extra dollars, will save you a lot of pain if you need to adjust your booking or if you have something like a scheduled change to your booking

    • I see this advice stated alot and personally I don't see a big difference between dealing with the OTA and the airline directly. After buying the ticket on the OTA many times I dealt with the airline directly anyway. I think which OTA you use is important, and they vary significantly in quality. Also having insurance can mitigate any losses, which you might be pretty much required if you go to any country with no health care.

I only go with the airline direct if it's about the same price. Otherwise it's usually a saving of a few hundred dollars.

      • Generally if anything goes wrong, you're at the mercy of the OTA and not the airline which could be the difference between you flying and not flying.

  • Is there any tips / hacks for long (e.g. over 4weeks) holidays?
Using google and btf only I only found the usual prices (around 2k) in Dec 25 - Jan 26
