Mentioned in the previous deal by me, but there’s an error. It’s advertised as $995 in the newsletter

  • The Price is updated to 995 now

    • Use the coupon.

Bought one, I hope I don't regret it

          I lol'ed.

Keep in mind this is not the Mini LED version which is significantly nicer.

    • Is the difference that noticeable?

      • I want to know too

      • +4

Yep, especially when it comes to contrast and black areas.

However, I have both the P7K and C7K (Mini LED), and for some reason, the P7K’s software/os (both of them android tv) feels faster and more responsive.

        • From your perspective, Is the picture quality of the c7k significantly better?
Edit - Actually sorry just realised you did say it was better in your comment

  • Can I get the price difference refund if mine was bought just a month ago?

    • Think it’s up to the store’s discretion

      Can always ask

    • Check your credit card's purchase protection Ts&Cs ..

      • +2

Just buy a new one and use the old receipt to return the old one within 30 days.

Go into store and tell them to do this without "picking up" the tv.

        • Thanks mate. I checked with their online service and they said it is 32 days after the purchase so cannot do the refund unfortunately.

  • Does anyone know if you can price match AND use the perks code? Something tells me the coupon code option won't be there when they send you a payment link.

    • +2

I tried during the last perks tv deal and it wouldn't work like you've mentioned. People had success by price matching in store first, and then using the code at the checkout counter when it was time to pay

  • Does anyone have this? At 350 nits is it good?
In a dilemma as I'm looking for a decent 75" on a budget.
Does the 60Hz make a lot of difference?
    Light user here

    • +4

I think it depends on what you compre it to. Not having full array dimming is pretty budget, but on the other hand I think the HVA screen tech is pretty good looking at the reviews. I guess the thing is HDR will not be so good on the screen. You need 900+ nits to get a decent effect. But really if watching sports and playing games in a room that isnt so bright, its probably pretty good. The thing to consider with main TVs is you look at this thing for a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable amount of years. So some people are willing to pay for the viewing quaility.

Otherwise it seems a fairly good price to get a 75 if your not a display savant. You have to remember a few weeks ago folks were buying FFALCON 75s for this money as a deal. Average joes are still out there buying base Bravia 3 75"s for over $1500 with no Full array diming and pretty bad black levels and going home very happy. Its $745 if you have a real use for the gift card which is good I guess.

For myself im looking to upgrade from a Hisense 65Q7 to a 75 inch TV. But I feel like because i have full array dimming and 1000nits brightness, I would have trouble stepping sideways to this. But if I had a 10 year old 55-60 LCD and didnt know the difference anyway, I reckon this would be good.

      • Thanks for that. I have a Soniq 43" since 2015 without issues and have been a very light user, so I've been checking QLED this or Mini-LED TCL 75" if I get a deal below $1000.

      • Thank you for the detailed post! For someone with a 10yo LCD like you said, who just plays .mkv files from the laptop, it looks like this might be a good upgrade?

        • +2

I think the average person that knows nothing about TVs, would sit in front of this and think Hmm, nice TV. I think if I went to an anrbnb and this set was there, id be impressed.

        • +1

Looks like a good upgrade, my only thinking points being the nits and the refresh rate. I mostly spend time in front of the computer (all screens > 100Hz) and the occasional TV during family movie time. None of the family watch a lot of TV anyway, we go days forgetting that we even have a TV.

  • We got the C8K for about $1200 from $1799 when it was on promotion from TGG. We bargained hard. And that the TV we never regret buying. If we have the space, we would’ve gone with the 75. One of the best tv in ht market out there. Audio by Bang & Olufsen. I strongly suggest to get the TCL C8K if you guys can wait for it. The specs are out of the world! The brightness is and adaptive picture will leave you breathless! (Being a bit dramatic here) but it’s true.

    • is this the model you got? TCL 65" C8K

      • Yes. That’s what we got. TCL 65 C8K. The best. No regrets at all!

        • There's a TCL C6K 65"selling at $995 at the moment, is that worth over this p7k 75?
Thinking if the 65 -> 75 would make much of a difference.
That one's got the 144Hz etc etc.

If I go for the p7k .. would cost $845 +59 delivery. Minus $100 gift card.
          C6K $995 incl. delivery

I have a 10 yo. 43" Soniq, nothing fancy. So which one would be a better upgrade?

          • @soulblighter: I’ll go for TCL of course. Go to their website and have a read. Compare the specs woth other big names. The C7/8K is this year’s model. If you can afford, go all the way to the C series.

The P series is an older model (23/24model if I’m not wrong). Not sure if it’s miniLED. But the C series is this year’s model.

            • @Schon: Thanks
I mean, would the C6K 65" be worth over this P7K 75" variant or C7K/C8K etc way better than the C6K version or not much of a leap?

        • i'm confused… currently
          TCL 65" C8K 4K UHD Premium QD-Mini LED Google TV [2025]- $2,695 reduced to $2,295

          • +2

@BatsRule: If you can wait, just wait a bit more. Ours went down to about $1700 EOFY sale and we bargained to about $1250 and managed to get it. Depends on the staff too actually. Then we got the TCL sound bar Q85 PRO together with the TV.

            • @Schon: thanks. i'll wait…

              • +1

@BatsRule: 👍🏻 I think just wait a bit more if you can. That is the lowest price I have seen so far. Now that you know he price, just monitor it.

    • Agreed, C8k is fantastic bang for buck on sale.
Dimming array is so good blacks are in practical terms perfect. And you can use as PC screen without worrying about burn in.

  • I just bought the TCL P7K 50 inch 2 days ago……. WHY

    • Oh no. Maybe return it and get the better one? Reason : upgrade. I’m sure you can do that. But it’s a hassle. Suggest at least the C7K. Better sound system too. Bang & Olufsen!

  • I have a nearly 15yo 50" Panasonic plasma. Would something like this be a good enough upgrade as a stopgap until I decide to take the plunge on something proper quality?

I currently watch AFL, some streamed movies, play Xbox Series X and Switch 2 on a 50" 1080p, so my gut says it would be worthwhile, but my brain says it could be a buy-cheap-buy-twice scenario.

    • The TCL C8K is good for gaming. Made for it too.

      • It's also a lot more expensive. This is my dilemma, I know it makes sense to buy quality once and be done but I can't afford that just at the moment.

Thanks for the reply though, it gives some perspective.

        • +1

If that’s the case, wait a while. Probably during Black Friday etc. we got it for $1200. Google around for th cheapest price till it reach your budget.

          • @Schon: Cheers. This is a good idea, if I wait a bit I can save a little more as well.

Me considering this today is really impulse driven, tbh.

            • +1

@ozbozb123: True. Ours was impulse. The price was too good to resist. Specs are better than the big branded names out there. B&O was when we couldn’t refuse to say no and had to break our piggy bank 😂

I suggest you save up and in the meantime do some research of it. I’m sure you’ll be blown away. There’s C9K but not for Australian market.

    • This tough one to answer. The resolution sure is better but old plasma tv look better than a lot of new cheap tv like this one.

      • To be honest, the Panasonic I have has a known issue where blacks are all washed out. Also the speakers are pretty much shot now.

So I'm kind of thinking of an interim step up for less than $1k, then eventually up to something really nice. Maybe I can then keep the sub-$1k TV as a second in future.

I might go check out a display model of this and ponder. Thanks.

        • +1

          Report back pls

        • Yes, report back please

        • Save a little bit on power. The Pana plasma is just over 500w. These TVs are around 130w.

          • @tunzafun001: Oh yeah, this for sure as well. That side of the room gets toasty when the TV is on.

  • Bought. Thanks OP.
Would appreciate suggestions for a good sound bar to go with this. Budget ~ $250

Thanks OP! Picked up today with a $30 wall bracket from Officeworks. Looks fine, snappy controls and a solid upgrade from a 55"

    • Can you please share the link to the wall bracket thanks?

      • Sure thing. It did the job, slightly more light duty than the previous one… Link

  • In WA looks like it’s on back order, due October and delivery only.

    • I'm in NSW and got an email saying it's back ordered an expecting more stock next month.
I've cancelled and trying my luck with HN who have the same deal running.

  • Would this be a huge upgrade from my TCL 552CUS?

Can't tell what the difference is since they are both 4k HDR but I know my current one is pretty lackluster since I have a LG C2 as a PC monitor.
