This one only has 2 blades instead of 5 but is better for sensitive skin (hence skinguard)
I disagree that 2 blades are better than 5. Just means it is quicker to fill up with gunk, which means more swipes with a blade across your neck.
Go with whatever blade doesn't clog up with dead skin, hair so easily.
I was just saying what the marketing is saying. I think it has more lubricating strips too, but I am not staring at the blades to find out the differences.

Then try a single blade…
Yeah mach 3 ends up being best overall for the price.
Don't need anything any fancier but would want less than 3 blades.Turbo is unbeatable
That's them.
Let's take our generic multiblade and chuck it in de razor barbershop colours.
It probably worked.
Proper preparation before shaving will greatly assist regardless of what razor you use.
Go on..
Wash face first with cleanser and warm water?
Not really rocket science and most people I assume shave after shower.Heating up the razor helps too, just leave it in some hot water for a few minutes.
Pre shave oil helps too, but makes cleaning the razor blade more difficult. So it's a double edged sword (or razor)
I shave in the shower. Is this not a thing? I feel like it should be.
That's efficient, I'd need a mirror.
Been using one of those Xiaomi s700 electric shavers. Hard to say if it's better, easier or quicker really. Takes a good few passes but seems to work better with wet skin (it's waterproof). Maybe less irritating but hard to know.
@G-Shock: I bought a shaving mirror with suction cups and stuck it to the shower wall, works perfectly as long as you've got a smooth surface to stick it on, though you do need to run hot water over it for a few seconds to stop it from fogging up as you shave.
@Manny Calavera: shaving soap is a thing..
https://www.beardandblade.com.au/products/proraso-green-tea-…
Btw it must be tea tree or something in the barbers hot towels that soothes and refreshes after a trim/shave.
@Manny Calavera: Ah got it. Was thinking those shaving soaps are possibly better than gel etc.
I'm a bit hesitant to use anything but water with the electric shavers. The dry mode lets out a high pitched squeal lately and work better with water. Apparently meant to put some 'oil' on the blades (it's those tri shaver things) but hesitant to use the clippers spray in case it irritates the skin.
@Brobert: Yeah I tried the shower mirrors marketed as 'fog free' - turns out they just have a coating that wears off after a few uses, then they fog up like any other glass. RainX and the like could make it work better I guess.
Two alternatives that I find work better:
- heated shower mirror - I've got a rechargeable one with lighting
- cheaper alternative - plain mirror, with mirrored surface 3M-ed to the OUTSIDE of the shower glass. That way if your shower glass is clean, it's easy to defog with a squeegee when needed. It's also one less thing to clean regularly in the shower, and it doesn't get in the way esp in small shower cubicles.@andresampras: Actually that's a good point..good not needing blades, shaving cream or anything else though.
The vanity and bathroom seems to get fkn dusty anyway..
You can add throwing that tinned goop rubbish in the bin to your list of things to do also.
Any generic blades that can go with these? Or are there any 5 blade option for this razor? I have Gillette fusion razor and I’ve been buying blades from eBay for cheap. Genuine ones.
ooo links? I hate the prices that colesworth charge for blades and they are rarely ever on special
Buy the King C DE razor instead - then good blades will cost you around 16 cents each and you can use them anywhere from 5 to 10 times before throwing them out.

It's not the same. You have to be very careful even after prepping the area for shave. I have tried it.
@bhunter101: I only use a DE razor (Rockwell 6S), it's just a different technique to a cartridge razor and takes no time to learn.
The King C DE razor is very mild, great razor for beginners.
The cost for cartridges is obscene, glad I hopped off that merry-go-round.
As @bhunter101 mentioned, its not the same. I have the King C lying in the box. Tried it a few times but my beard is really thick, so it takes a full 20mins for a proper close shave.
With the Fusion, I'm done within 10 mins, which includes 2 passes.
@starbearer: You simply used the wrong razor for your beard type and probably the wrong blade as well.
The King C razor is on the very mild side and not suitable for thick coarse hair, I'm not surprised you gave up on using it but your experience of DE shaving is not true for all men with thick beards.

Gillette are a sensitive mob, should know it’s lubricate with an i.
Seeing as this is now a razor discussion. I don't recommend the aldi one.
I don't mind it to be honest. always get a good close shave with it
Aldi 5 blade version with the replacement cartridges is about the same price innit?
I decided to try one as mach 3 blades were starting to annoy me cost wise so figured I'd try it and it's just terrible compared to a mach 3.
Admittedly I rarely use a razor & prefer the Phillips shaver but when I do clean shave they work fine.
Lots of going over areas twice I've found compared to the mach 3 but it gets it done in the end.
Looks OOS, shows $19 for me with other sellers.
Single blade is best for sensitive skin
For men with little facial hair, yes.
You'd need a brain transplant if you think the beard makes a man a man.
I didn't say that. Not sure why the down vote.
If you don't have much facial hair, you can get away with less blades, others need more for more hair and gunk.
@serpserpserp: Well I didn't neg you down, but to answer your question maybe the words "for men" kinda make people think that way. In the end hair is hair, men or women we all have it and we all shave it, one place or another.
maybe the words "for men" kinda make people think that way
I guess it made you overthink it.
But I can guarantee that people who get heavy facial hair growth do not find single blade razors better for sensitive skin. The amount of times you'd have to scrape your face with a single blade would be many multiples of a Mach 3/5 blade razor. You'd also be shaving for longer.
@serpserpserp: Good to know! I can imagine that. Honestly I don't have much facial hair nor I want to and I just changed from this disposable neck razor blades to a DE safety razor just for fun.
Ozbargain essential shave kit is this:
1. King C Gillette Double edge
2. 100 pack Astra blades
3. Proraso shaving cream
4. Shaving brush ( I brought from AliExpress)
If you are a big spender buy the Proraso brush.I've been using this for two years. I'd say I have over 40 blades remaining. Amazing value and no need to buy into supermarket sub quality products. I came from Aldi 5 sensitive blades.
Enjoy the close shave 🪒one blade lasts me 5 years lol
You can get all that stuff at the supermarket too :P.
Would have to be pretty careful not to cut yourself or your finger with those blades. Not sure they would be very good for sensitive skin but no doubt it's down to preparation and technique.
A lot of people who get irritation from using a cartridge find moving to a DE razor actually helps, dragging multiple blades over your face is the cause of a lot of the irritation.
That makes sense. I don't have a thick beard or anything will keep the routine simple. Easy enough to do daily or two with electric shaver, even if it takes a while to get a close shave
Been using the BIC blades and they do the job. Are the Astra's better?
Used the shaving cream with a shaving brush and couldnt find any improvement over the spray foam from Gillette
Different blades suit different people, buy a sample pack of blades and see what you like best. The Astra Green blades are known for being sharp but also very smooth.

(Don't let the website scare you, it's legit and Samson is a top bloke who'll look after you).
Are you a real ozbargainer if you're still using cartridges? I've saved so much since switching to a safety razor
I remember buying these some time ago from The Reject Shop for $5. Was a good deal. It came with 1 blade.
Box diagram on the front only shows 1 handle and 1 blade included. No 3 replacement blades included. No where does the pictures show 3 replacement blades. Amazon is completely wrong in the product title.
I bought one of these before and for what i remember it was only the handle with one blade. That's it. Amazon is wrong about there being 3 replacement blades. So don't expect 3 replacement blades. You only get 1 blade.
It's the refill kits which come with 3 blades. But that is sold separately to the starter razor handle kit.

Better than Mach 3? always end up going back to Mach 3
