Tesla Powerwall 3 Price with The Rebate

Hey everyone,

I’m looking into getting 3x Tesla Powerwall 3 for my place and thought I’d start a thread to share info on prices in Victoria.

Prices from Installers
  • most affordable (Growenergy) $21,180 installed.
  • Installer 2s $25,000 – $30,000.
  • Installer 3s $30,000 – $35,000.

Those installer 2s and 3s are mostly Premium installer from the Tesla's certified installer website.

Do you think the price from Growenergy is realistic or risky?

Keen to Hear from Others
  • What quotes have you been given?
  • Any good/bad experiences with installers?
  • Did the rebate process go smoothly or painful straightforward?

    Why Powerwall?

There's other alternatives out there that are much more affordable for similar function.

    • Which alternatives would you recommend ?

Sigenergy offer much more sleek looking and superior performance. Budget options like goodwe or growatt can offer superior performance for even less money, or at the extreme end neovolt or alpha ess or any other ac coupled options can give you 50kwh for even less than $10k, payback is gonna be 3 years.
Tesla already lost the home battery game so don't waste money on them, they'll be soon like sunpower or LG in the solar panel game not long ago. To give you perspective the neovolt offer similar performance to the powerwall 2 at about 1/3 of the price, there is no way the American can win back their ground.

        • I did looked into Sigenergy as well. the price is really attractive. My home is single phase and with Sigenergy I can only have 6kW inverter with max 24kWh battery, compared to PW3s which give me 8kW inverter with capability of more than 40.5kWh battery.

          • @RenewableInitium: no, they do have 10kw, even other brand such as Goodwe, Deye and so on has such options, and they all offer serial battery connection. Tesla do pathetic parallel connection on a low voltage battery which should be no better than neovolt so why pay extra for nothing. There's no point having massive battery that take half a day to charge up because time is money.

            • @lgacb08: It is from the installer though. They told me the single phase power can have up to 24kWh with 6kW inverter.

              • @RenewableInitium: He's been taking you for a ride, plenty of people do much larger Sigenergy battery and inverter combo on single phase. By design Sigenergy can stack unlimited number of batteries on top of each other.

              • @RenewableInitium: I'm scheduled to get a 10kw inverter and 24kw on single phase

                • @ndenham: I see. It might be my system is too small 10.4kw. good to know Sigenergy is capable as well.

@RenewableInitium: PW3 has a 11.5 kW inverter and can support up to a 20 kW of solar. Also the expansion pack has just been CEC approved. Each PW3 can support 3 expansion packs. Tesla is one of the most expensive options but you are paying for quality, reliable, performance and warranty.

Just ordered PW3 with two expansion packs, $30,000 installed including subsidy in rural Qld. Much cheaper in the cities though.

  • Plug your car in at night and run the whole house lol

But the fumes make me drowsy.

  • did anyone looked into 30kwh for 5.5K from voltx ?

    • Are you thinking of going with the Voltx battery storage? What kind of price have they quoted you so far?

      • 30kwh for $5.5K

        • No other brands will beat that budget! Go for it! :)

          • @RenewableInitium: I just had a HP energy salesman come over. Gave us a quote for 5.9k Deye 30kWh battery including install and everything. Gave a really good pitch on Deye coming from an offgrid supplier to going into residential stuff more recently in Australia. Still trying to research more about it, in the 14 day cooling off period, as it seems almost too good to be true looking at everything else now.
