I bought the Cygnett 25,000 Laptop power back does 100w out was about 99 bucks from umart so far its a very good option fully tested with my Steam deck I plugged in for about 8 hours playing nothing but forza horizon 4, and the whole time the steam deck stayed at 100% never droped. And then I could play nother 2 and half hours more playing it with the steam deck battery. 10 hours total of steam deck with a graphics intensive game.

If the built in cable dies, are you down a fast port? Does it charge from one of the others?

    • Looks like if the retractable one gives out there's another USB-C In/Out port. I'm not sure about warranty on this item or Ugreen customer service though.

Probably a low chance of failure unless you really throw this around and abuse it. And even if it fails it's a simple fix if you're handy with cable repair and soldering. Which I guess not that many people are lol, so yeah you'll be down a port.

I don't get the downvotes, this is fair response.

        • +3

Because most of the time people end up with broken cables due to carelessness.

@smartazz104: True, but shit happens. I have been using loads of USB C/micro for years and travelling for

over 3 years and hardly broke any cables or ports as I am usually pretty careful. This morning

something came up unexpected, and I drove my van after leaving phones, bluetooth speaker,

and chromebook which was plugged in via usb c pd. They all fell off and the laptop fell on it's

usb c cable plug resulting in breaking the 60 W 2m cable at one end (was one of my favourite cables

            haha).

Moral of storey, It can happen to us all, even the careful types.

      • Not so sure how simple it will be if it breaks well inside the unit.

Personally not a big fan of the inbuilt cables but people seem to be buying them still.

Not really a fan of built-in retractable cables. These mechanisms are prone to failure and when they do eventually fail, you're stuck with the extra bulk.

Man been looking for a 3C powerbank

      Does this have CCC certification?
Can't find it in the listing.

      • I'm still looking for one :( gotta go China maybe later or early next year…without CCC I won't be able to bring it

        • +1

china does allow to bring Powerbank without ccc only for their own domestic flight. International flight is ok. If you are going to fly inside of China, dont bring it.

    • Same… transiting through China but have an 8hr transit and would like to go in to a local spa while i wait…. but dont want to risk losing my 27000mAh 100W ALDI powerbank…

      • Aren't you able to find them in stores while in China?

        • Apparently its not as common yet and only been explicitly labelled on more recent batches.

          • +2

@abe465: I purchased the 130W with no retractable cable version in China earlier this year and it has the CCC marking on it

      • They have powerbank vending machines in China everywhere if that is your only use case. Would work out much cheaper than buying one and carry it all the way. I think it costs about A$2 for an hour of rental (fully recharged).

        • +1

It’s moreso that I want to use one for my Europe trip, but i transit through China (for 8 hours) and they apparently confiscate them if they dont have a CCC label

Doesn't look like many available yet: https://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/power_bank_ccc
