Cheapest Data Only Sim for Light Home Usage

I'm looking for the smallest possible data plan that slows the speed once the data limit is reached, rather than charging extra.

This is for a family member who barely uses the internet through a small Wi-Fi modem.

Current on Telstra.
A couple years ago, they had a 5GB plan for $15 which increased to 15GB for $25 and now it’s $30.

Anyone know of any cheaper options? Maybe Telstra is the best still..

Belong and Voda both have shaped umlimited iirc. If it's not too much to teach them, Felix does half price for the first 3 renewals fairly frequently, they can get unlimited unshaped for $20, provided they port out every 3 months.

  • Check Coles and Woolworths catalogs, they have sales on yearly plan and can be much cheaper than monthly prepaid plans.

  • I know I'm late to this conversation, but I'm also searching for a low data plan that lasts more than a month.

I think I've found one, a bit unconventional though:

So you now have 1GB of data, and one year to use it. If you renew the plan at the end of the year (auto-renew is an option), your remaining data allowance will roll over.

If you want a little more data, you can add extra credit to your plan (minimum add is $15), so then you have $30 credit which buys 3GB of data.
