Google say it's $5000 everywhere else, though (one ebay seller has it for $4500?) so presumably they rated it for that price.
So maybe at $3400 it's pretty good?
Price is pretty irrelevant to Rtings reviews, they measure performance irrespective of the price or target demographic.
That is unfortunate. I always like the idea of a projector, but the performance vs an OLED TV is just not good enough, especially at this price point. For roughly the same price you could get a Samsung S85F 83" OLED.

The education price makes more sense as I bought this projector couple years ago which is similar to the OP's price. (only 200-300 dollars up?)
