This is the RX 9070 not the RX 9070XT incase people miss that.

    • nor the GRE

      • Which in this case is a good thing because the GRE sits below the 9070 (and not even officially available outside China, for that matter)

Is there a downside to using BNPL for deals if you pay them off immediately?

Asked this question to myself last time the afterpay one popped up.

Apparently it doesn't affect your credit score but you may still get asked about the transaction etc when going for like a loan or whatever. You can also supposedly do the first small payment, then the next one pay it all off in one go.

I guess the main downside really is it's just another company with your details waiting for breach ha!

      • Laws changed on June 10th of this year, it'll add a credit check to your history and defaults/missed payments will be reported like any other credit. Lenders have to include it in credit calculations for loans.

IMO it shouldn't really matter, any more than churning credit cards. When I got a home loan I simply closed a pile of credit cards and watched my borrowing ability go up.

        • Oh wow, I had no idea. Good to know!!

Though that's only if you miss/default right? Otherwise they don't report it?

@ReaperX22: All the transactions get reported, so a lender will see your spending history with them. I couldn't find a definitive answer whether it gets reported like any line of credit, where they can see your max borrowing, but they can definitely see your debts and repayments over time.

Basically like any other kind of credit now, in terms of reporting - https://www.canstar.com.au/credit-cards/what-new-buy-now-pay…

it's treated as a credit card when apply for a home loan. so if you need maximum borrowing capacity, close all of BNPL and CC account you have

Same card was $949 a couple of days ago

This is the best price if you want one right now, but there's also that the 9070 XT is 15% more $ with 15% more performance. It doesn't make sense to stick with the vanilla 9070 unless your other hardware is holding you back somehow, or you only game at 1080p.

You might be limited by your PSU, or just care about efficiency, as the power usage rapidly increases for the additional performance.
