Pretty crap IMO. Chicken pieces are tiny (like wicked wings are bigger, and have more meat). I’ve had their nasi lemak and that was pretty poor, too.

    • My experience was the opposite. I had a generous serving of chicken and found it very tasty. This is at Craigieburn outlet.

      • I agree with you here- been to the one at Knox and chicken pieces were quite big (vs KFC wicked wings, apples vs oranges anyway) and quite tasty.

Their menu prices are quite high for fast food IMO.

well i've been to 2 MJ outlets and i found their chicken pretty ordinary, small pieces and pretty expensive for what you get. People can neg all they want, as its subjective and you are not alone in your experience! I'll try one more time at Highpoint or CBD melb…

Why are there so many chicken places now?

Surely KFC, Red Rooster, Nando’s and Oportos was enough?

It seems like once a week there’s a deal posted for some new chicken place.

Been to malaysia at least 20 times. This place was very disappointing

  • Minimum purchase of $30 is required to qualify.

Would that be $30 to get the voucher or, $30 main spend each time to get the bucket of chicken?

    • I initially thought it was $30 min spend to qualify for the voucher. However, reading the instagram image again, I think it's $30 min spend each time to get the bucket of chicken

Waited about 1½ hours in line. I ordered a burger combo and a chicken combo.

The burger patty was not crunchy, a little bigger than KFC's patty. The coleslaw was drier than KFC and those from the supermarket. Apart from the lid, I don't remembered the tub had any seal to prevent tampering. The fries were similar to McDonald's. Over all, not bad, but also nothing special.

I saved the chicken combo for dinner, to be reheat in my air fryer. I guess the upside is that you can get spicy chicken ball year round at Marrybrown.

I am still not sure if a minimum purchase of $30 is required each time I want to redeem the free bucket of chicken. My guess is yes. Why else would they print it on the redemption card?

Could anyone who have made a redemption please share your experience?

Did you have to redeem at the counter or can you use the serial number on the card?

    Can you choose Spicy?

    • The fries and chicken reheat very well in the air fryer, 6 minutes at 185 degrees.

The black pepper sauce is very strong and spicy. While very tasty, it overpowered the spices in the chicken.

The wording is misleading and confusing but you shouldn't need to spend $30 to redeem the bucket of chicken (if so, then it's not worth it at all).

You need the card at time of redemption, staff will stamp the month accordingly. And yes, you can choose spicy option (they asked me last month which version I wanted).

      • Thanks for the confirmation.

Below is a recipe of KFC chicken rice, adapted from this website.

        Ingredients
2-3 Fried Chicken Pieces (breast and thigh)
        2 cup of rice
400ml Chicken Stock (1 tsp Vegeta powder)
        1 tsp Light Soy Sauce
        2 tsp Sesame Oil
        1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
        2 tsp Minced Garlic
        2 tsp Minced Ginger
(garlic & ginger paste in the jar from the supermarket are fine)

Add all the ingredients into the rice cooker with the corresponding level of water, and start cooking.

When the cooking complete, take the chicken out. Using two forks, shred the meat and skin. Mix them all back into the rice.

Makes for 2-3 serves of easy lunches.
