When Is The Best Time to Buy Pixel 10 Pro XL?

Pixel 10 is going to be announced tomorrow. I was thinking about getting pixel 10 pro xl. What do you guys think, when is the best time to buy Pixel phones? When can I get the maximum discount?

Either preorder using a jb hi fi cancel contract thing or 12-16 months in the future, when google gives 1k off, and sells teh phone for how much it's actually worth.

I'd suggest buying an S25 Ultra for less money

    • Can you explain about the jbhifi thing?
I didn’t like the camera of s25 ultra

Jb Hi Fi phone contracts have a loophole. So if you pay like $100 for a $2300 phone, and agree to pay 99 dollars per month for a BS overpriced plan, you have the option of cancelling your contract and instead of repaying the total cost of ur contract, you'll repay a "voucher repayment fee". U can save alot of money.

I got an S25 brand new for 526 from jb hi fi, warranty and everything

          • @shxhshzhz: Still good for an ultra level phone, these phones have an RRP of 2300

            • @John Barosa: So does that mean a Pixel 10 Pro XL would cost $1,597? ($1,997 (original phone cost) - $1,400 (deal discount) + $1,000 (voucher repayment fee))

        • Wow $526?

Can you share on how have you got it at such bargain?

          • @jaboday423: Min voucher repayment. Check for jb hi fi S25 deal, when it came out like a few months ago. Jb employee actually helped me through the process of cancelling.

Ofc you'll pay more, cause they increased the voucher repayment, but still better than paying actual prices.

            • @John Barosa: @John Barosa, aware of JB Hi Fi Telstra deal but the early cancellation fee was $800*(23/24)+$99 which could have been $865. so wondering how come $526.

Pre-order, Black Friday, Xmas/Boxing Day or in 10 months time when the hype for the 11 starts ;)

  • 5 years from now. second hand.

  • During preorder later in JB Hi-fi or wait next year just like previous Pixel 9 Pro XL deals.

Btw, I am thinking about the camera bar design flaw problem:

    Also with Pro non XL:

Previously I was surprised by very low ISO 25 (very low noise) after taking photo from Pixel 9 series inside a JB Hi-fi store. After reading the camera bar design flaw problem above, I wonder if I should buy a Pixel 10 Pro phone later …

    • my pixel 9 pro xl broke probably from water damage, woke up and it was dead. (the night before it was fully soaked and told me to wait for it to dry before charging).

that day i did a google live chat support, in 1 business day i had a new pixel 9 pro XL delivered and sent my broken one back without issue. Was surprised how good the support is

It's the shame the telco warranty is so sh*t

"yeah, we'll send the phone back for assessment … make sure you back up your phone … no loan phones (not that a sh*tty loan phone helps when it takes 10+ hours to switch to a new phone) … phone comes back a few weeks later … warranty denied, use misuse"

Seems to be the standard playbook for all telco's these days.

wow thats horrible, both times for my phone and watch i had a devicc sent express to me (i paid the full cost of the device, was just a pre-auth) and it wouldnt charge me for the full price if i send it back within 30 days using DHL express.

edit this is google store, damn i wwish i bougjht my pixel 10 from google not jbhifi.

Google store will fulfil the warranty even when bought from jb hifi.

I got JB Hi-Fi to give me store credit for a case that had stretched and become loose after a year of use, successfully arguing that it's not longer protecting the phone, so isn't fit for purpose, and that if they sell phones on 3 year contracts, then the expected lifespan of the case has to be at least 3 years too.

There's no god damn way I'm not getting a refund if the camera bar were to come unglued.

Use the phrases "Australian Consumer Law" "expected lifespan", "fit for purpose", "known fault going back to the previous generation" and "consumer affairs" - They will absolutely take a return on your phone.

All of the people complaining they were told to get stuffed are not Australian - Consumer laws are exactly why we pay such high prices for things, and are the reason you can't be left high and dry if something does go wrong.
