Bought it in the last deal - looks very good on specs and there's a lot of nice things - gloss screen, OSD layout, KVM.
But lots of people had issues updating the firmware and there are two major issues with the firmware:
        1) DisplayPort 2.1 mode is broken, has to be put into DP1.4 mode for high refresh rates to work for me, other people have other issues
        2) OLED protection features turn off whenever HDR mode is enabled, which happens all the time automatically from the OS - if you don't remember to often manually re-enable them the life time of the panel may be potentially reduced - although the Pixel Refresh protection is always on and can't be disabled the other 3 have this issue

Have been in contact with HP to trying to confirm if there's a planned firmware update to fix these issues, otherwise I would prefer a refund for the reduced panel lifetime and missing advertised features - might have been better to jump in on the next gen panels.

I'd love to know how they're still in business. HP have had shitty products with major issues since forever. I had two laptops and a printer from them back in the 2000's before I learned my lesson. All had major failures and all had repairs that left them more broken than they were before.

    • Just ordered two. One two replace my C3 42 and the other for my Mrs CAD/Rendering work via her laptop (she wants larger than 27" but not curved and my 42 is 'too big'.).

Every monitor has its issues and this is a great price with a good feature set (DP 2.1 and 140W PD).

    Good price on the laptop

  • Guys!

I've been on the fence with getting an OLED monitor. Have looked at everything that can be had under the budget of say $1400.
The LG ultragear is not available on the LG website. Samsung g8 (2025) is also on preorder, close to 1300. Last gen is close to $1169

This one seems to tick most of the boxes for me. I'm happy to pull the trigger. Are there any known flaws?

Good price on the monitor. Buyer beware of ownership on this specific model. HP Omen Transcend 32" 240Hz OLED Monitor.

Sharing my experience after solid few months from purchase in the previous sale.
    * Updating the screens firmware can be frustrating and from my experience 90% of the time the updating application is buggy and does not detect the monitor for some odd reason. Anything below 1.0.7.0 is buggy especially the kvm and usb ports. at this time of writing, 1.0.7.0 is the latest, good and stable firmware.
    * After downloading the standalone firmware to patch the version, the install button loads but is greyed out and loops in this weird error where it gets stuck at "lighting" module, . There are forums that says to disable some RGB lighting aura services but that didnt work, trick here personally was to quickly click on 'Install' button when it popped up and let it be.
    * The OLED screen itself is next level user experience from any TN or IPS (clarity and gameplay is immersive and the blacks is deep and full, flip side of this is you need to be cautious not to treat the screen like a office workscreen where people touch the screen and sneeze all over it (not myself but observed colleagues doing this in the office) which brings me to my next point.
    * Cleaning the screen is the biggest headache, all fingerprints and imperfections shows on the slightest touch like when you adjust the monitor or accidently touch it from changing kvm inputs (best function and reason for my purchase)
    * Recommendation for this is to avoid touching the screen at all cost and if the screen is dirty, the HP Support recommends distilled water and a clean microfiber cloth, rubbing in circular motion. Literally elbow grease to clean the screen. For best results i use this method and two microfibre cloth technique. One for the wet clean and quickly wipe up going back to get rid of streaks. The dry clean. Personally i dont find this to clean well compared to isopropyl alcohol but OLED technology is different and apparently has a thin layer which can be easily damage. Lots of users mention on forums streaks and scratchings just from cleaning the simplest dirt and dust.
    * Wouldnt recommend this for work, the greys are obscured and lost in the background, (for those using Jira), the kanban board is all merged to one with no seperation in the columns, im not sure colour calibration is required
    * The Windows HP Display Centre APP is horrible and cant even load, crashes everytime you try to open it. Not sure whats happening here but its required for OSD menus via desktop and colour recalibration.
    Buyers beware.

Overall though the screen is a solid buy, OLED is getting cheaper by the day. Its not for everyone but its nice to have. Its still a "phase" or "hot trend", call it what you will but a regular high hertz monitor IPS is good enough for the average joe. Hope this comments helps anyone thats deciding to cop the monitor. :)

    • Appreciate you taking the time sir!

  • HPAU20 not work for me. Any bro can figure it our?

    • It's working. Make sure no other code is applied. Also check whether the account you're using is set up in Australia. Sometimes ebay defaults to US and then AU codes stop working.

  • That might be the issue. I may have US account

same code - about $80 cheaper.
