For those who don't have Prime, watch for free using Kanopy app. You'd need to create an account using your public library card number. Most libraries in Australia offer credits to watch stuff on Kanopy. If you don't have a library card or your library happens to be one of the few who don't, you can create an online account with several libraries who do e.g.,

Kanopy is good but my problem is that justwatch doesn't index it so it's hard to work out what's worth watching without mindlessly scrolling the app/site.

Is Kanopy better that Beamafilm?
Kanopy has more extensive and better content than Beamafilm, but Beamafilm has unlimited access. Both are good but I prefer Kanopy.

Kanopy is excellent and I've been using it for quite a few years as an ERL reader. Never had trouble running out of the monthly credit and there are loads of great films and TV shows to watch, eg. it has just put up two highly acclaimed films by Tarkovsky, Stalker and Solaris.
On the other hand, it's a shame that BorrowBox has much fewer interesting audiobooks to offer, but it's probably just my personal preference. It does allow me to download the audio files without as many hassles as the previous OverDrive and Libby, but I guess that's the reason, less rigid copyright protection with smaller and blander repository.

Our BorrowBox collection isn't as large as our focus is on our Libby collection.
I would recommend signing up for an alternative service that focuses solely on BorrowBox if that is your preferred platform.

Etc.. Etc…
I don't think it them as free. I think of them as one of the best uses of my tax dollar. But yes, heartily agree. Libraries are great.
Age-old question of what is 'free', if anything really is ever free. Earn less than tax-free threshold, have them for free?
