Does it rattle or make much noise in general?
not quiet compare to Kmart fan, but acceptable .
So kmart fan is better?
It isn't a rattle but these bladeless fans are definitely louder than a DC fan. More of a white noise sound. Definitely the kind of noise you can sleep through but if you are after the quietest fan in terms of decibels, get a good quality DC fan.

Rather a DC vornado fan at this price..
So strong can blow the roof in maxed setting.
So this is just a fan without the air purifier?
I've got a couple of these. Once certain chips on the PCB fail, the fan will oscillate on its own even when switched off but plugged in to the mains.
This versus those vornado models has anyone got a comparison from personal experience?
I got 1 , hard to clean, but still going strong after 9 years
