Extendable USB-C Cable for Thunderbolt 3

I have a Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Core https://www.belkin.com/my/p/thunderbolt-3-dock-core/F4U110bt…

While it works well, the cable from the dock to plug into the laptop is so short, around 20cm which means I can't hide the Dock and it also puts stress on the cable/laptop.

I know I Thunderbolt 3 cables aren't meant to be extended but I would like to extend the cable say 50cm.

Has anyone found an a extendable USB-C Cable for Thunderbolt 3 (male to female) that just works? I'm sure charging would be ok, but I want to also run dual monitors.

I was looking at the UGreen cable but some reviews said it had trouble with displays.

I also found https://www.amazon.com.au/Extension-Thunderbolt-Connector-Mo… which is suppose to be USB 4.0 max 40Gbit/s Data (but no reviews)

Damn Belkin and their penny pinching 20cm cables.

  • Just try it and find out - Amazon has a good return policy, no loss if it doesn't work and you have to return

    • Yeah that's what I'm thinking but it's annoying having to return stuff (even though it's free).

I also don't have Amazon Prime anymore, so need to find another $50 of goods to buy for free shipping haha

  • +1

Worth a try, obviously the signal will be degraded but I would recommend you not have any data drives on the dock if you go for this approach as while some display glitches can be tolerable, you don't want the risk of silent data corruption
