Hi Ozbargainers,

I've been approached by Pharmacor the owned for Trust branded medicines to help them clear a few pallets of Ibuprofen. As such I've got a cracker of a deal on 192x Ibuprofen 200mg tonight. We've sold thousands of boxes of ibuprofen over the years, for this brand of coated tablet, with this exp date - I think this is an amazing deal.

I've got a few thousands boxes at hand - so there should be enough for everyone tonight.

Hopefully they'll have a few pallets of Trust Nexcid to clear soon.

    • I have bought the alternative here - litle more expensive but just as good
Trust Nexid was $5 - for 4 boxes the heartburn relief is about $6.60 - dearer but way cheaper than local pharmacy

  • $20 for 16 boxes…that'll help the credit card bill

Nice one, purchased. Now just need a similar deal on paracetamol.

I wouldn't Trust anyone who approached me with medicines.

Yet you can only buy one a box from a regular pharmacy. How is this not regulated.

    • HUH?

Hi Ozbargainers - I should be able to get the first 150-200 orders out, but orders from now in may take a day or 2 to ship, please be patient.

  • Thanks Jason, was gonna add some paracetamol but wasn't anything good value right now

How are these different from the cheapest Coles ones which are about the same price per tablet?

Not dissing the deal, just feels like I'm missing something (which isn't out of the ordinary)

    • The active ingredient will be the same so the basic medication and its effect won’t be any different. But, if you don’t live near a Coles or Woolies this might be more convenient.

    • +7

I had the same thought - Aldi has coated ibuprofen tablets at $1.39 for 24. That's only $11.12 for the same number of tablets.

      • Does the Aldi price include delivery?

If no - is this really a comparison?

The postage and packing cost incurred on this deal (by me as seller) = nearly half the retail cost.

        • Ah OK, that makes sense. This deal doesn't work for me, but it would make a heap of sense to those that are rural and/or in higher cost centres to where I am. Thanks :D

Aldi $1.39 per 24 pack. Comes out cheaper and dont have to buy as many.

    • +5

Only if you live near an Aldi store. The closest one to me is 600Km away, though, and when you add in the cost of the ferry it kinda kills the deal.

      • +7

Coles sell 24 pack for $1.55…
About same price as this deal but doesn't need to buy as much

        • -1

Coles are non coated tabs, same active ingredient, different product.

          • +2

@jason101: Coles ibuprofen are coated tablets

          • @jason101: Incorrect mate

            • @ronburgundy11: No worries - I get a bit worked up as I really feel there is a significant growing cohort of people just slamming my deals - I checked the coles website and there was no reference to the tabs being coated - if I am wrong, no issue, apologies.

There is no one in Oz offering this product at this price delivered, yet I still get negs and everyone wanting to point out that if they scrounge around at 3 different coles they might get a similar product 72c cheaper without delivery - I feel I have to be on the front foot on just about every deal otherwise the comments slide into a giant hate fest and I'm left holding $10k worth of stock, which is actually the cheapest available, but if I dont come into the comments punching the deal may unfairly sour and I literally lose $10k by having unsold stock that eventually goes in the bin….. I might need a holiday.

      • 550m away from one :)

    • No Aldi in this state. You gonna pickup and post for me? Thanks.

Out of curiosity, how do people use so many?

So far in my life, I've used Panadol twice; most recently when I pulled the flanks of my lower back muscle but that was tablet a day for a few days.

Ibuprofen has an anti-inflammatory effect. I went through about 100 with wrist tenosynovitis, as directed by my physio and osteo.

That sort of injury doesn't just get better without assistance. Ideally you'd ice the area to manage inflammation and completely immobilise it to David further aggravating the issue - not really practical for most people who don't want to frequently wake up to ice and not use their hand/wrist for a few weeks. So ibuprofen helps manage the inflammation and lessens the impact of the body's natural injury response to let you follow a less strict recovery approach while still healing

      • I'm at the start of the road with treating tenosynovitis, got any recommendations for products that helped?

        • +1

Mine was caused by my newborn - congratulations if yours was too! And also condolences.

To be honest physio and osteo appointments were useful to an extent, but the best thing was getting a brace and fully immobilising it to let it heal.

I got this thing, although the business is atrocious and I wouldn't recommend anyone order from it unless you can physically but it in store due to their crappy drop shipping approach: https://sportsbraces.com.au/product/donjoy-respiform-wrist-b…

A couple of weeks in that did a lot - I got it after about 7 weeks and improved a fair bit after that. If you get one, be sure to get a brace that has a thumb immobiliser and has solid pieces in the wrist - the fabric ones on Amazon and af chemist warehouse don't really do much. Unfortunately for me it still needed a bit of help and I ended up with a cortisone injection which really hammered the issue.

The other thing that was really good was this cold pack: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DNFG8QXD
It only stays cold for 15 mins or so, but is really good at getting the cold into the right place while still letting you do things. I didn't put my thumb through the hole, just wore it a bit lower down and felt it gave a lot of relief.

          Hopefully some of that helps!

Edit: you're in Melbourne, so maybe shop around for wrist braces and see what you can find - it took over a week sports braces to even ship my order.
If you end up needing a cortisone injection, go to Imaging at Olympic Park or Victoria House (South Yarra). I went to IOP and the doctors there do it many times a day, where as at normal radiology clinics they might do one or two a week.

If you're anywhere near the inner west, The Body Folk in Seddon was the osteo I went to and they were fantastic - Andy the main guy is pretty heavily booked out, but I saw one of the other osteos who consulted heavily with him to ensure I got a good outcome.

          • @Domingo: Thanks for this!

Definitely appreciate the recommendation for where to get the cortisone injection, if you don't mind me asking do you remember how much it was out of pocket? My doctor said it varies wildly between clinics, but can't find much online

Unfortunately mine just came about from chronic overuse at work (writing software) over several years, so nothing nearly as exciting as a new baby.

@Jolakot: $450 out of pocket. I thought perhaps that was not including the Medicare rebate, but when I tried to claim it, it was rejected as already claimed so I'm fairly certain that was the out of pocket/gap amount.

5 people in the house. kids with sporting/stupidity injuries, women with personal issues. Me with a headache from all the "I'm in pain" :-)

    • As you age you'll use more

  • +2

Don't see the value in this deal when supermarket ibuprofen costs the same/less and you don't have to but 192 at once.

    • +1

I think it's for those that want delivered and or bulk with minimal hassle.

I personally will buy from the supermarket

    • If you have two people sick in the house at once, 2 x tablets 3 times a day, and you will go through the supermarket pack of 24 in only 2 days.

      • … so buy multiple packs?

        • That's a good idea!

  • what is exp date?
