BACK IN STOCK FOR IMMEDIATE SHIPPING

Hi Ozbargainers,

I've had lots of requests for a diclofenac deal. I've never been able to put one together due to the high buy in price of generic diclofenac, which is near the price of the originator. Anyway one of our suppliers has been good enough to send some my way at a fair price, so I thought I'd bundle it with ibuprofen and move it out the door before the EOFY. If this lot sells well and the price can be maintained I am happy to keep it on the permanent rotation.

Item: 20x Diclofenac 12.5mg + 48x Ibuprofen 200mg

Is this an alternative to neurofen? Can I safely use it instead of neurofen I buy from coles?

Honestly, blaming the pharmacy for selling ibuprofen and diclofenac in the same sale is a bit of a stretch. It’s not like they’re telling people to take both at once! Pharmacies sell all sorts of meds that shouldn’t be mixed, and it’s up to the customer (with a little help from the pharmacist, obviously) to use them responsibly. If we followed that logic, supermarkets shouldn’t sell milk and citrus fruits together either. Let’s not act like people are just grabbing random pills and downing them without reading the label or asking questions.

        • Probably doesn’t count since it’s OTC

Amazon sells digital lighters, backpacks and water pistols.

Better get busy negging before someone inadvertently builds themself a flamethrower…

    • +6

      Petrol stations sell lighters!!!

    • are you a pharmacist?

    • well done keyboard warrior. ordered 2 packs.

    • +5

It seems unethical and irresponsible marketing of a pharmacist to promote such an inappropriate combination.

Because … you know … there's only one person consuming these …

Do you really think ANY pharmacy is going to stop someone from buying both at the same time?

What I find more idiotic is that I need to get grilled if I want a box of 25mg Voltaren, but I can buy 2 boxes of 12.5mg.

I think a neg case could be made for why a pharmacy is selling S3 items without (sufficient) consultation, but I don't think your general comments about NSAIDs address this. This kind of commentary is why Australians can't buy cost efficient packs of 100 tablets of anything like Americans can.

Yep. Darwin wept for OzBargain and the resulting drop in average stupidity of the remaining population…

  • Thanks!

  • I hate to be that guy, but any chance of a deal on 25mg Diclofenac?

    (inb4 everyone says 'just take 2 x 12.5)

    • I hate to be that guy, but any chance of a deal on 25mg Diclofenac?

Doubt it, as 25mg can't be bought "over the counter".

      • yes it can over the counter from a pharmacist, it's the 50mg that are on a script
chemist warehouse for example will call you before dispensing an online order

        • yes it can over the counter from a pharmacist,

I think we might have different ideas of what "Over the counter" means.

No where around here can you just walk in, pick it up off the shelf and walk out - via the cash register. You have to go the the prescriptions counter, and although you don't need a prescription, you do get a grilling. Sometimes a simple one, sometimes not.

Of course, forgot about that. Cheers (and to crackman)

I would say no given you'd have to have a consult with the pharmacist

If only there was a way to make a 25mg dose out of 12.5mg tablets…

  • Wagner health one cheaper ? Are these better ?

    • +1

No, they are the same, if you are comparing the same dose. How would they be better?

I recently checked every medication for a relative and not one single medication was cheaper anywhere else that I could find than chemist warehouse. If it wasn't for the ozbargainer ingrained in me I would probably give up on comparing prices and just go straight to CW. Unsure if these are any different but I guess it's nice to have free delivery

      • Tbh there is a lot of placebo effect going on as well. My mom loves pandol but thinks other brands don't work as well. It's weird . I know it's the same chemical and dosage but it's preference I guess. Free delivery is great.
