Good Guys - Dyson DC39 Allergy $688, Animal $697, Multi-Floor $547, $1 Shipping

20

I was looking for a Dyson DC39 and was keeping an eye out for any overseas deals. I noticed The Good Guys have all of the DC39's in their catalogue at the moment. I am considering spending a little more and making sure I get a local warranty.

Price seems to be similar to deals back in Christmas http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/88800.

Masters have the Allergy and Animal for $1 less for those true OzBargainers, but delivery is $9.95.

Any feedback on whether I should go for the Allergy or Multi-Floor would be appreciated. I have no carpet in the house, just hard floors.

  • Pretty sure i saw the dc39 Allergy at Costco Auburn today for $649 or so

  • I bought the multifloor model when Good Guys had it for the same price during the Boxing Day sale. It's an OK machine - our old Vacuum cleaner was actually quieter and more powerful (Higher end Electrolux Oxygen bag machine about 7 years old). The multifloor tool is actually pretty lame. We have polished porcelain tiles and I actually think sometimes it pushes dust and dirt around rather than letting it enter the head - when on tiles air doesn't flow well through the floor tool and it makes a bit of additional air turbulence noise (in addition to the noisy motor). I am not sure if the Allergy has a better head (or if it is worth the extra $$) - this is the third dyson vac in our house (we have an upright for our upstairs carpets and the hand stick vac) - Based on my feeling of the other Dysons we have I was expecting the DC39 multifloor to be a little better.

  • This may be your best bet. Buy the multi floor, as it is the cheapest and then get this attachment (that doesnt come with any of the DC39).

Not sure if its the cheapest price for it though.

    • Thanks. It actually comes with the Animal.

These are the good guys normal prices. I paid the same for a Allergy back before xmas at the GGs

  • As you don't have carpet, go the multifloor. The turbohead or whatever it's called on the Allergy is not so great on hard floors.

  • For anyone that's interested, got the DC39 Multifloor for $540 at Goodguys.
