Power Lift Recliner for Recovering from Injury

Hi all,

I've recently suffered a leg injury which is going to take quite a while to heal. Min 6 weeks of non-weight bearing, a lot longer to recover.

I was thinking of getting a power lift recliner for my use at home to help my get up and down.

I have no idea where to start or if there is a cheaper option like hiring/shortterm rental.

Alternatively, a good deal to purchase one is another possibility. I only weigh 85kg which seems within the range.

Total long shot, but does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

got one for $100 off gumtree a while back…. there's a few cheapies out there from deceased estates and the like.

Buy second hand if you can unless you find a good rental option.

My father bought one brand new and it had six months use - purchased for $5,000 and we were lucky to get offers of $300 when we wanted to sell it.

Agree with others. My sister in law bought one for her father and he only used it for 6 months. There are probably lots of people in a similar position.

  • Thanks so much everyone for the suggestions, I never even thought of hiring one!

I did look at FB marketplace, but the only ones I could find looked like the previous owner might have actually died in it, so that was a no go.

We ended up buying a brand new one from Amazon that will be delivered tomorrow for $400. Cheaper than hiring one, and it has all the bells and whistles. Can always donate it if we no longer need it.

That's great news. Take care with your recovery.
