Seems like a good deal on a popular budget gamepad. I ended up getting it for around ~$17 shipped with coins and credit.

Might be best to just use a controller you already own for that.
TSP doesn't have that bad of controls does it?
You're right, defeats the purpose of portable console . Thanks!
Thank you very much for this, I was going to buy it from CentreCom this weekend so you save me $13 and a trip to the city.
Would this work with raspberry pi?
Would this have the same specs as the centrecom one or will it come as a knockoff?
Like what about the 8bitdo ultimate 2c for $25, is that legit or scam?
bitdo ultimate 2c for $25 where about?
@SwampyBits: Can't speak of this one in particular, but I've bought an 8BitDo branded controller from AliExpress and it was the correct product.
Should be legit, I've seen the 2c pretty cheap.
Just make sure it's got the features you need, 8bitdo's range is confusing af.
That would be the introductory offer from Aliexpress? I got 2 x 8bitdo ultimate 2c for $30 each and they are great. I look for listings with high sales counts. Just watch out for the wired only version
Thanks, somehow I clicked the link and it said price was $5.42 - with fees I paid a total of $8.15
I don't even need a controller but at that price can't go wrong I guess?!
Got it for the same price $8.15 browsing on the PC, on the APP was charging me $19.95 .
I am testing the coupon code and not successful - Do you guys have any codes that works?
Just letting you know it is purple not black.
I went with the $27 one from Umart. Worth the extra in my eyes. If I could have purchased it for $8.15 like above, then a different story for sure.
Thanks, updated the title
Updated to blue…. :-) It is purple.
googling the colour code, some sites said midnight blue, others said space purple. Don't think it really matters, looking at the reviews on the aliexpress listing (for the same colour code) it looks like dark blue to me:

Change of mind. Got it for $14.48 all up. Created a new account.
Should also get 14% off with CR.
15% with TCB
Would this work with switch 2?
Yes.
Yes. I use the wireless dongle for my setup.
Does it wake up the switch?
nope
also GameSir T4 Pro for around AUD28 not sure if much better than this Nova
This one may actually come with the case/cover.
and hall anti drift stick!
I guess this one works on PC games no issue?
Yes.
I had a huge issue pairing these to my steam deck over bluetooth, so beware
Its not listed, but does this work with Xbox?
Nope
No.
You'll need to shell out for an adaptor like the Brook Wingman XB3, as well as this controller
Do these do xinput over Bluetooth? I remember reading something about having to downgrade to an older firmware for Xbox controller emulation, not sure if anything changed/still works.
Currently using some cheap Switch style ones with software emulation but be good to not have to do the extra step.
Watch the firmware for sure. Think it is X input only over USB dongle.
I've got them doing xinput over Bluetooth using ds4windows, rock solid
Yeh, I've been using BetterJoy and more recently ds4windows and they do work well, just find sometimes the controller goes to sleep if we have a break midgame and doesn't always work again when woken, need to tab out and restart the emulator. Maybe there is something I can tweak to avoid that. Might have to try x360ce again too, though it was giving me problems before if I remember rightly.
Mine just arrived today. Yet to try it out but I found the post I was thinking of
https://www.reddit.com/r/Gamesir/comments/1c185ve/psa_keep_g…
FW 4200 is the one that lets you use xinput natively over BT. Newer versions emulate a Dual shock controller.
$9.73 delivered for me - thanks op!
Damn so jealous
Thanks OP, got one for $9. I've been looking for a cheap controller for my Retroid handheld.
Retroid controls are great tho
Yeah the Retroid sticks are great but I play on TV sometimes.
Picked up another. This time without an account for $11.31 on the phone. Great bonus when selling stuff.
bruh what is that discount lmao

Will this work with Xbox Game Pass streaming on Fire Stick?
also wanna know
how does this compare to easySMX lineup?
Thanks OP. Got one because of the hall effect sticks. All my 8bitdo controllers have started drifting
I have this and regularly use this to play metal storm on my android. highly recommend. good battery and easy to handle. only thing I wish is if there was some kind of bracket to hold the phone on this controller.
comes with a usb dongle for PC use but never used it and comes with a moulded hard case/ cover.
Thanks OP. Got one $8.90
Tax $2.x…..Will this work for PS4?
Nope.
GameSir Nova Lite Wireless Gamepad Controller with Bluetooth, Dongle, Wired for Switch, Android, IOS, PC & Steam Games
Nice price for a good controller. FYI if connected by Bluetooth it connects to my PC as a PS4 controller which affects compatibility in some programs (eg I can't use it in nucleus coop, and you get PS4 symbols in Steam). If you use the dongle it's detected as an Xbox controller.
Yeh, have a few couch co-op games (Brotato, Moving Out and the Overcooked games to name a few) that only detect xinput controllers.
If you want to play over BT you've got either software options like ds4windows, BetterJoy or x360ce or you can downgrade to firmware 4200 which works as an Xbox controller over BT.
$7.54 delivered for me
Got it for $4.52 delivered without any coupons, not sure why but it changed to that in cart - not using a new account.
Bought 22aug
Delivered 28augWhat a bargain it is!!! Not as premium as my Gamesir Cyclone 2 but still a great controller for < $15!!!
Hello everyone. Any new info about the 7000 firmware?
I've read their page with instructions:
https://gamesir.com/pages/nova-lite-dongle-and-controller-ma… (opened on 26 Aug 2025)
But there is no info about changelog (at least I couldn't find)bear in mind this post about 4200 is the best
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16859307/redirNot touching any firmware at all. It works perfectly as X-Input with dongle out of the box. Retro setup complete.
7000 says is for better stability with Switch 2 (and needs v16 update on dongle)
I've downgraded mine to 4200 now (see below).
Don't know if I'd says it's best, but necessary if you want xinput over BT. If you're using with dongle or don't need it then there may be other improvements in later versions.
I downgraded my firmware to 4200 and now have xinput over bluetooth back. Pretty straight forward, here's how (did this on Android, not sure if IOS will work the same)
- Install the GameSir app
- Pair the controller with your phone in Android mode (Home + A). If you need to enter pairing mode again, hold Home + Screenshot (circle button below home).
- Connect in the app (device should be listed at GameSir Nova Lite). Tap device in the app, then Firmware Upgrade.
- You'll be asked to enter upgrade mode. Select Continue Upgrade (nothing will happen yet, device will unpair and switch to upgrade mode)
- You'll now be able to see your current firmware version with option to update to latest (mine came with 6900).
- Tap Other version at the bottom, and you'll see a list of all the available firmware
- Select 4200, proceed with update and that's it. You'll need to pair with your device again, but now Home + B mode will connect to PC as an Xbox Controller.
I dont know which version the dongle is on but I didnt touch it, tested and still working with controller on 4200.
@bamzero thanks. xinput is for playing on xbox, right? if i have pc and switch i dont have to worry about xinput ?
I use it on PC and wanted Xinput as it will pretty much work with everything.
If you are just playing Steam games, it's not really necessary as Steam will handle non Xbox controllers no problem. Supposedly when you add non Steam games to your library and play through there it should handle the controller conversion but I didn't have any luck.
DS4Windows etc will work, but I just wanted to be able to connect to any of my PCs via BT without needing anything extra.
I can only assume it would work with Xbox too but then again it can be picky about it's controllers (GameSir does have dedicated Xbox controllers)
ok done it back to 4200 now.
on your instruction Pair the controller with your phone in Android mode (Home + Y) that shold be home + A for me (samsung phone) the rest is correct@McMaferMur: Ah bugger, typed the wrong thing. Correct, Y is Switch mode. That should say Home + A.
Maybe a mod can fix for me.
XInput is part of the DirectX API (thus the X) and not related to Xbox.
You can't use this GameSir controller on Xbox without other conversion hardware.
Anyone notice a big bug in the iOS app. The app only sees the device (somehow) when the blue light is flashing (ie. not connected). When it connects with solid blue the app can't see it! Is it a special upgrade mode? Upgraded one of mine to 7000. Not sure if anything broke.
And how on earth do you update the dongle hardware? The app doesn't even see it.
just realised the buttons layout are different from switch haha, my 8bitdo has switch layout- oh well, will sell this
If you don't look at your buttons you can just remap them on the switch.
Perhaps you can open it up and rearrange the button faces?
There is also a graphic that says M+A swaps the A/B and X/Y buttons.
It even came with a nice carry case. Very happy with it.
Yep. I had seen that was included overseas, but no mention local. Score for sure!
Just got this with new account A$13 inc tax, more difficult to create new account now with Aliexpress.
Not worth the effort i think unless you are desperate of a controller, i mean better to create when there is bigger better deal
I just used mobile data on laptop, new email address and delivery address, don't let them search, type it in manually, may be shorten some address like st. instead street, etc.
Also bought a phone case which need min $15 spend to get free delivery.
Strange question but has anyone tried this with portable retro console like trimui smart pro?
