Please note that only the first 3 books are free.

Cradle is a New York Times best-selling series following a character's growth as he goes from one of the weakest users of his world's magic to among the strongest.

The series features an original magic system inspired by Chinese cultivation and martial arts novels, with a heavy emphasis on anime-style super-powered battles.

Book one drove me nuts but glad i persisted with the series as it most definitely got better.

I work as an editor. Self-published novels tend to drive me mad until I put them down (because I can see where they needed an editor). Will that happen?

The first book is just a bit slow and feels like it's not going anywhere. I finished it and was unsure but continued on the recommendation of others and blasted through the other 11.

        Great series overall.

Will I buy it? I just wight!

  • I was so lucky to get all of 14 ebooks for free. Good series….got plenty of his other works for free as well, but haven't read the newest one yet.

I got as far as book 9 and gave up. I got bored and a tad slow for my liking, unfortunately.

  • Is it just like Game of Thrones but with extra steps?

    • Nope

    • Yeah, very different. Game of Thrones has several concurrent storylines and is quite political. Cradle has only one storyline and is easier to read. Cradle is in the "progression fantasy" sub-genre.

  • I read too many martial arts and murim manhwa somehow made me cant enjoy these series even though I want to.

  • I loved this series, I think I ended up paying for three books to support the author, they are all for free at some stage. The horizon series is good too.

Note that the Cradle books are generally pretty short, total reading time probably less than the Lord of the Rings.

  • The audiobooks are pretty great as well, which you can add for a few bucks if you have the kindle version. Fair warning though, if you're susceptible to it, you may end up walking around saying "Weiii Shiiii Lindon!" a lot but maybe that's just a me problem.
