someone please correct if wrong but this upgrade is free for all providers

    • +3

Current 100/20 and faster FTTP and HFC NBN plans should get an upgrade. However, some providers already jumped the gun and released plans based on upgraded speed (i.e. 500/50, Exetel one plan). Those ones are unlikely to get any upgrade in September.

No upgrade for 50/20 plan, FTTC and FTTN plans.

No, you're not wrong. Meanwhile, the vast majority of RSPs have put a large, fatty layer of profit margin on top of their base plans.

"Come get a new connection with free speed boosts! Just don't read the fine print." ***

*** We're releasing these plans early in the attempt to hide the fact that we've increased prices on all tiers, so while you think you're getting a great deal, we're getting an even bigger boost to our bottom line, so thank you for that.

        • Exetel One plan is cheaper than the old Exetel 100/20 plan. However, Exetel One plan enforces CGNAT (cannot opt out). It is still cheaper than what I used to pay AussieBroadband for the 50/20 plan. CGNAT is annoying though.

I am aware of cheaper plans than Exetel One plan (once the September upgrade is applied). It's more about shop around for better deals, rather than staying with the same NBN provider for a long period of time. Yes, I get 500/50 for $80/month is still too expensive for OZBers (the $100 TopCashback offer did sweeten the deal) and some people will be able to get that speed for $65/month in September.

          • @netsurfer: Oh there's sure to be some fringe cases, no doubt. But RSPs biting the bullet early and pushing out their new price lists (instead of doing it on the day) gives them a leg up by increasing prices without the general public being aware. If consumers knew about the speed increases and were savvy enough to think ahead, they'd be comparing their current plan vs the new ones that will be on offer. But publishing the new pricing model early and without any fanfare allows RSPs to bury the fact that they've increased their prices to the vast majority of consumers.

You're not wrong about shopping around either. I've mentioned this to many friends and family that they need to look at churning to new RSPs once the honeymoon phase is over. It's amazing how many are paying way over and above what they should be.

Well it's not a bargain then.
      This is ozBARGAIN, not ozADVERTS.

Why are you making a separate post for each one of your plans?

        • +10

Are we allowed to ask you questions? Is that okay with you? Are we allowed make enquiries without receiving arrogant and sarcastic replies on a public forum? Thanks for letting us know about your level of professionalism, I can only imagine what would happen if there was some sort of billing or service issue.

@howcan: Of course you can ask questions, that’s what we’re here for 🙂 We always try to answer clearly and respectfully. If anything came across differently, that wasn’t the intention.

All Providers were on notice last year about this happening

@hailstorm: We go through Telcoinabox/Symbio so it may have been last year doesn't mean it was official to us mate.

Getting a static IP with no CGNAT for just $89/month is a steal for me. I was previously with Exetel but accidentally switched to The One. I’m now looking to move to a plan with either a public IP or a static IP. I’m pretty happy with Exetel here in Brisbane, but I’m not sure about the ping and stability on your network.

      • @Unity55 we just recently moved over to ABB wholesale network on 08/06/2025. We have had a lot of QLD sign ups recently with zero complaints so far. Happy to see if we ca help.

    Where's the deal???

  • Does anyone know if they support IPv6?

    • -1

Hi @Soldier we do Static IP (IPv4)

      • Thanks for the answer, but ipv4 details were already clear and obvious from the listing and the your sign up page. There was no information I could readily find regarding ipv6, hence the question

    • +1

      No IPv6 yet.

        Thanks.

  • OP are you able to provide an update as to the timeframe for having POPs in other capital cities please? I would be interested in your plans but I understand all traffic goes via Sydney due to the use of the Telcoinabox/Symbio network. Also the timeframe for IPv6 support.

  • +1

@andrew1879 we don't have a 100% answer on that. We are in the hands of Telcoinabox/Symbio and ABB. It's on there roadmap.

  • Curious about what’s the CVC is like? Does it go by what ABB has or would it be potentially different? Would you expect a performance difference in peak time compared to being with ABB directly?

    • It goes via Symbio/Telcoinabox who got bought out by ABB. Every service since 08/06/2025 is ABB which is what our portal says.
