  • Yeah another free steam game… Wait, something is wrong.

  • "Free stuff included" makes me thing its that overpriced they can just add extra stuff in without any issue

Free game promos have existed as long as graphics cards have existed, even when they were cheap. It's also no secret nvidia has an insane profit margin on GPUs.

      • The point I am making is that none of them are actually free. The cost is considered in the price.

        • It's because people are likely to think they are getting way more of a deal when they get a free new release game than 5'>10% off the GPUs price, it's just a disguised sale.

Plenty of people buy at full price though.

          • @Vinodra: Yeah its disappointing.

I also hear the 6000 series is expected 2026, so could be a good time to wait till then to pickup a 5000 series or possibly a 6000 if the performance/price ratio is better.

@badjazy: It almost never is worth waiting, 40 series held up well since the 50 series is on the same node but 60 series will almost definitely be a node shrink.

  • Damn, I bought an RTX 5080 on August 13 so I guess i just missed it?

For anyone buying a graphics card and wanting this, take a bunch of photos of your new card and any stickers on it etc before installing the card… I finished installing new 5070 and decided I might as well grab the free game but [after much stuffing around finding the right info, links etc, making an account and then starting to fill in the form] ended up needing a photo of some particular number written on a sticker on the card. Can't even tell you what it was because I cbf pulling apart my PC again at the time because new-graphics-card-day.

Getting the code from the GPU OEM has been more difficult than expected.

Umart can't help: "The Borderlands 4 game code is not provided directly by Umart. Instead, it needs to be redeemed through the graphics card manufacturer’s website after your purchase.", along with a link to this page: https://www.pny.com/promo/consumer/borderlands-4. The page has no info about how you receive the code.

The English-Taiwan version of that page (https://www.pny.com/en-tw/gaming/learn-more/borderlands4) has a link to a redemption form that says ANZ cuistomers will get their code with their purchase (not true according to umart), but then also links to a redemption form. https://www.pny.com/en-tw/gaming/learn-more/borderlands4.

"Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand: The offer is valid through authorized e-tail and retail partners. A code will be provided directly with your purchase. If not, please contact the store where you purchased the participating graphics card to claim your code.

Australia and New Zealand: Please complete this form to claim your code. For PCs purchased at Nebula PC store, the code will be provided directly with your system."

The redemption is a google form - no email confirmation received.

    • can you link the google form please?

Australia and New Zealand: Please complete this form to claim your code. For PCs purchased at Nebula PC store, the code will be provided directly with your system.

@warclone: I received my code this morning - it seems they only process the redemptions on mondays.

            • +1

@ddeeaallss: Nice, just checked and got mine too. I think the PNY card i got is good quality and performance…..joke of a website and structure though atm

  • Has anyone had luck with a laptop bought from the Lenovo website?

I have a code but not really interested in this game can it be transferred to someone else?

    • Same question. Putting it into the Nvidia app sends you to an online redemption page but I'm reluctant to proceed as I want to be able to sell the code!

    • I can test it for you if your willing to share the code 😜
