According to camelcamelcamel, the current price of $34.89 is the historical lowest from their regular price of $49.90.

I had $15 off for over $60 spent, which came down to $54.78 for two of them.

It looks comparable to the Vivo STAND-V001, but the Amazon Basics one:

  • is thicc
  • has better cable management
  • has subtle branding on the base

I'll report back after I receive it tomorrow. EDIT: left a comment with my feedback.

Highly recommend this style stand instead, sometimes dips below $40 as well. I've got three of these in my current set up and they haven't missed a beat.
They offer a lot more flexibility with placement: https://www.amazon.com.au/NB-North-Bayou-Computer-20LB-F80/d…

There is also this version I use (H100) which is $54 atm with the applied coupon https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/333699570159

    • That NB North Bayou is solid - I've used it in workplace setups.
I'm leaning toward a fixed stand since I don't plan to adjust positioning and want it to last long. My current fixed stand has lasted 10 years and is still working.
I've seen gas springs slowly sag over time, but that is the trade-off for flexibility.

      • So does this one in the deal only allow the monitor to be perpendicular to the desk, no tilting up or down?

You can tilt up and down, it's just a little annoying to adjust. If you need to change it often, then I would not get something like this.

  • Man i want some of those clearance discount monitor armsss

  • I need one to go upside down, this is the perfect solution.. Thanks OP.

Just received and set mine up. Took around two hours to set up two of them.

One holds a 34" ultrawide, and the other is a 27" monitor in portrait.

They're really sturdy, and the cable management hole is excellent. My 34" monitor weighs 8.5kg, and this stand holds it perfectly.

The setup was decent for this kind of stand, but still a pain with my setup. Not looking forward to redoing this when I move in two months :|

I was wrong about the branding. This one has subtle branding at the base, but I don't notice it in my setup.

      Damn 2 hours? jesus.

How is the tilt function? Ive got 2x crappy heymix ones I bought off ozb about a year or so ago. They are awful and I have to tighten the crap out of the the tilt screw plus have a slight backwards tilt to even get them top stay up properly and not droop over. And these are light 3kg monitors lol. They're awful arms.(but they were cheap)

I don't tilt them up or down, I just want it to stay up straight without too much effort.

I had quite a bit of gear, including studio mics, lights, and a camera in the way. There's also more to it than you think taking into account cable management, and making sure the monitor is in exactly the right spot.

The tilt is a bit fiddly, I think that's just the nature of these. I didn't have to tighten the absolute crap out of it. I did have to tighten it just enough to tilt it backwards while not being too loose. A 3kg monitor should be pretty easy with this stand though IMO!

Would be much much easier with an extra pair of hands but I'm stubborn!

Gotcha, that's fair enough then lol. Basically re-arranged everything.

I got these from a deal a year or so back for $19ea https://www.amazon.com.au/YESDEX-Single-Monitor-Aluminum-Gro…

They are god awful - have to tighten the ever living hell out of the tilt and they still droop down unless I tighten it with a slight tilt back. Even though it's well within the weight range. I can barely touch it either in fear of it drooping lol.

Guess that's why they were so cheap.

          • @bert-lifts: Damn that sounds bad, especially for something that new - definitely swap it out at some point.

            It'll only get worse too…
