Ooof. How many days until Christmas? Can this count as an early gift?

    • +33

Sure, thanks and I look forward to receiving your gift kind sir.

      • +14

        I've seen the list buddy.

        • +1

          Have you checked it twice?

    • Hello. Its me, your wife.

  • +23

These ones aren’t so good, they don’t melt connectors or produce any Jensen frame generation.

    • +1

AMD also uses frame gen? the next big update to FSR is also fg focused.

    • +22

You calling this overpriced then suggesting to get a massively overpriced 5070 instead? huh??

The 50xx series are terrible, unless you can pay for the absurd 5090 pricing. Otherwise the 50 generation is just bad

    • +3

overpriced? you actually tried this GPU? I'd be pretty bummed to be paying the extra for a 5070ti just to get less FPS due to the heavier CPU load on the nvidia drivers, no thanks.

      • +1

That is an if. If you have an underpowered CPU then yes. Otherwise it is a bit of a back and forth between 9070XT and 5070Ti.
I am myself on the fence between the two because they are currently similar value proposition at the 1100 and 1300 price point.
For 1000 I would grab the 9070XT. For 1250 5070Ti gets the win.
But I am so busy lately that I might just wait it out till the "no performance uplift" Supers and get it then.

        • i don't think its about being "underpowered", i got a 5800x3d and at the framerates (180+) I want to game at benefit from a lighter driver. I'd say my system is pretty balanced.

Just wanted to comment saying this post is crazy. For anyone considering; read the reviews, read the bench marks…

Just get either the RTX 5700/570ti or wait for price-drops when the enevitable SUPERS are anounced

The Ti would be the super, not sure why they sometimes call it Ti and sometimes call it Super but I guess it depends on the card.

The 5070 Ti is better than the Rx 9070xt but the Rx 9070xt seems better than the regular 5070
      https://www.techspot.com/review/2991-amd-radeon-9070-xt-vs-n…

The 5070ti seems to be around $1500-1600 so it's quite a bit more expensive than this Rx 9070 xt where the RTX 5070 is a bit cheaper than this card, seems to be around $900.

I think the GPU pricing is all lining up where it should be when you look at the benchmarks.
Pay less for a 5070 if you don't mind getting less performance, pay more for a 5070 Ti if you want more performance or pay for this if you want the middleground.

Another thing to keep in mind is the RTX 5070 is only 12GB but the 9070XT is 16GB

How do they go on Linux?

      • +1

Awesome on arch. Windows has a few games that have issues but over on linux they run great. This model runs hot as fk but just power limit and send the fans with a nice undervolt and all is good.

      • Very well, tested under an Arch derivative and with Debian.

    • +1

This is not overpriced and some of us do not want an Nvidia GPU for a couple reasons. E.g. melting connector, price etc.

      • +3

        Or Linux compatibility.

    • +3

if you have no idea what you are talking about, its best to just keep quiet, rather than making a complete knob of yourself..

    • just bought one!!!

  • +5

this card runs quite hot and was considered low end of the 9070xt range, better off with a PowerColour Hellhound for about the same price

  • +2

Buy AMD GPU, buy Nvidia stock.

  • +3

For those without eBay plus, it's cheaper by $20 at MSY (https://www.msy.com.au/product/sapphire-radeon-rx-9070-xt-pu…)
