Singapore Hotel The Clan - Anybody Stayed There?

Hello, just asking if anyone has stayed at The Clan in Singapore?

Heading there in October for 5 nights and the clan looks good. Never been there before and so many choices for hotels. Fortunately, I clicked that some are only shoe box size lol.

Do you have a favourite?

Many thanks

I’ve found Novotel hotels are consistently decent over the world. I havnt been to the Singapore one so can’t comment there.

Try trip advisor website to see what they say.
I believe on hotels.com ect you can sort by rating so check out the 1-2 star and 5 star reviews

Forget Tripadvisor ratings! Their bots glorify their own crap!

    • Thank you

I mean, while you're soliciting for experiences from randoms… https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Hotel_Review-g294265-d19888117-Reviews-The_Clan_Hotel_Singapore-Singapore.html

That said, looking at the website you won't go too far wrong with the Clan, a top tier hotel run by TFE (well established Singapore hotel chain). Basic room size is decent for central Singapore, but I'd only be booking that size for a solo traveller for 5 days, the Premier would be more liveable for 2. Location is pretty good.

Have stayed in quite a few round the island - Sofitel, Conrad, QT, Parkroyal on Pickering, Rendezvous, Village Hotel Katong, Grand Mercure Roxy, Mondrian Duxton, Fullerton. No real favourites, but if I had to pick one to return to on the list I would go the Fullerton again…

    • Lol, soliciting for random comments only.
Thanks so much for your help

  • I havent stayed there but the location is excellent, so a good choice. Obviously Chinatown has a lot of food (and a hawker market), you are near Lau Pa Sat, if you want some western food or middle eastern (or a bar) then walk over to Boat Quay (more upmarket though). You are next one MRT station and just down from another. Walk over to the river and then down to the merlion/harbour.

    • Awesome! Thanks so much

  • Next year we will stay in dorsett-singapore. MRT station just next to it..

I stayed at the Dorsett January this year.

      Pros :

      • Chinatown is a great location for shopping and food.
      • The proximity to the Outram Park MRT is very convenient.
      • It is reasonably priced.
      • The Staff were nice / professional / competent.
      • Overall the hotel is clean.

      Cons :
      - The decor on the floors and in the rooms are very dated. There is peeling wallpaper and loose carpet in the hallway on our floor and others.
      - There is a pool, while it is clean it is not well maintained, there are loose tiles.
      - There is a small gym, but some machines are broken.

My family hated it, I was OK with it given the pricing. Unfortunately we stayed at the Hilton at KL before flying to Singapore and that set the expectations too high.

      • It was renovated recently.??

Maybe, I am not sure, it needs a sprucing up.

Personally I can look past the decor for its other redeeming features.

Lol yes big drop in standards. Hard to go backwards.
        Thank you for your help

  • …………..

  • I wonder what their inclusivity policy is like.

  • Stayed there twice over the last few months (stop over to Europe and back) for a total of about 4-5 nights. Clan hotel was brilliant, rooms are really nice and modern. A pretty high tech hotel with the reception located on a higher floor (so you need to get a lift to the lobby). Location is excellent right near China town and La Pau Sat (night food market) only 5 min walk away. Train stations are almost opposite which can take you anywhere and getting a taxi is very quick and easy as well.

Breakfast was excellent although got busy towards the end of service with good quality food including ability to order fresh eggs as you please (fried, poached etc). Dinner would be best at the night market or any of the restaurants on the street.

let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Thank you so much for your fabulous reply. I am now confident making a booking. Appreciate you!
