  • Can i replace for my bmw or audi?

    • +6

      Yes, I'd replace both

    • Depends. Most BMW have 3" or 4" speakers

  • -4

    Bad reviews

    • +3

4.3 stars out of 5 over 61 reviews is bad?

  • -4

25wrms lol, ozb mates don't let other ozb mates purchase these, spend the extra and ant least get 50wrms speakers. You don't want to be pulling on and off door cards replacing blown speakers because of the $h!t quality.

There are merely a replacement for factory speakers for people that don't have sub and amp set ups.

    Do not recommend.

    • +3

I remember using these (or maybe a similar version) years ago to upgradea really terrible oem speaker. Don't underestimate how bad some oem speakers are. for $20, this will be an improvement for a lot of oem setups running stock head unit.

  • Also 88dB is not "loud".

    • +3

      What!?

    • +1

He is right. If it is 88db/w is pretty inefficient. That said it depends whether you also have rear speakers. If not, it is most likely going to be acceptable.

  • +2

And if anyone else is looking for ozbhood advice, buy 2way component splits.

2way speakers are junk and only used for fill.

    • +6

Decent advice from a technical point of view, but don't component splits use a separate tweeter than also needs to be mounted somewhere, alongside a crossover box that also needs to be mounted nearby?

There's a reason why people buy basic 2-way speakers like these, and it's usually to replace even worse factory-fitted speakers, without replacing any of the other audio components and certainly without adding external amps etc.

I'd be curious to hear if you have any recommendations for good quality 2-way or 3-way speakers just to replace the laminated cardboard junk found in the door cards of your average hatchback.

    • Splits are trash. Get coaxials with a point source design.

      • -2

        Coaxials are junk.
Never seen them in front stage unless they are used for fill.
        Splits are superior.

But these 2way junk soeakers are barely even an upgrade over factory ones these days.

If you're going to want proper sound, go the 2way splits, get the amps, cap and subs.

If you ain't hitting over 130dB in a car, I wouldn't even call it sound, it's just noise.

These look like what I put in my Torana in 1977, cheaper too.

    Progress.

    • +1

If you've been around that long your hearing won't be very good anyway haha.

  • Anyone know much about ToolPro tools? What are the screwdrivers like? Better than Ryobi or Stanley?

    • +1

I think @Muzzeb had them but he is no longer with us. Maybe @MS Paint knows what happened to him or what he thought of these screwdrivers…

      • +2

I just got off a satellite call with Muzeeb and he adviced that the screwdrivers are decent and loves the magnetic tips.

    • +1

I haven't had any break yet even using them as mini pry bars and I also have Toolpro ratcheting spanners that I've had for at least 10 years now and never had one fail.

I'd rate them around Gearwrench or Kinchrome, maybe better assuming the quality is still the same as when I bought them

    • Thanks all, I've bought a set 😁

  • +1

bought this to replace my blown suzuki swift speakers ;) TY

installed on my 2009 toyota yaris, works fine. I am no Audiophile but hey I can hear music and news. cant go wrong with that price.

Pioneer make terrible car speakers. Most of the 6.5" and under have no bass, just mid and trebble. They start around 200hz and up. If you are looking in this price range, you're better off with Kenwoods when they go on sale.
The screwdriver set isn't bad though. Its 32 drivers and the rest are driver bits.

    • can confirm the bass is terrible as i have purchased. still decent if you want to replace a dead speaker though..
