In consumer systems, DDR5 has 24GB and 48GB sticks as well, with a max of 192GB.

      DDR4 was 128GB max.

Agree though, so weird seeing anything other than 8, 16, or 32!

      • the 8gb for the video card would make it 32gb :-P

    • Even RAM is non-binary these days.

It was a cost thing for DDR5, 24Gbit DRAM modules turned out to be more cost effective than going straight to 32Gbit modules (DDR4 capped out at 16Gbit). I think 32Gbit modules have only just started showing up, because there's also a lack of demand (64Gbit is allowed by the standard too).

It means that for laptops like this, they can put in 24GB in the space that would have only allowed for 16GB before. Likely at minimal more cost (just a few dollars).

Still a silly price for GB206 IMO, really need to see more from NVIDIA in terms of 5070 Ti mobile pricing.

  • 8gb vram holds it back quite a bit

I got the AMD version with 32GB ram and a free monitor and bag and 2 years premium care for $2,432.81 a few weeks ago. I know Intel CPU is more powerful but the AMD is more efficient so better battery.

  • Prices all gone back up to $2,997.00

Anyone else manage to still get this deal at $2,599?
