[Hack, Everyday Extra] 10% off Grocery Twice Per Month with Future-Dated Pickup Order & in-Store Shop @ Woolworths

3440

My everyday extra expired yesterday so I thought other people should use this hack. Not sure if shared already.

In the past we can use it twice a month if we placed online order first then used it again in store, then it changed to online or in-store.

I’ve been using this hack for at least 6 months but I’m not sure about the 10% off discount from insurance or mobile.

Steps:

  1. Place click and collect order with the monthly promo code and select a future date
  2. Before that day, head in store and shop, to use your monthly discount
  3. A few days later, collect your online order

I usually did this after the new catalogue was out. On Tuesday I placed click and collect order (to be collected on Sunday or next Monday), and between Tuesday and Sunday/next Monday, I used the 10% off again in store. This way I could buy groceries at 10% off twice with different catalogue periods.

So you spend over $500 ? I would never need to do this luckily .

    • +66

I think the advantage is being able to use the 10% on 2 different sets of weekly specials.

      • Yeah that makes more sense

    • +12

I don’t, but I want the flexibility to use different catalogues discount

    • +2

Good for sharing with other households.

    • +2

Not yet, give it a year

  • How much does it cost now? I paid $75 when it first came out. Then I got pissed off and cancelled it when I saw that they reduced it down to $35 for new customers.

    • +3

I paid $35 and it got extended for 2 months because of the supply issue. I don’t plan to pay full price when I sign up again

      • +2

curious as to why. I personally get way more value than $7 a month. Unless you a making really small orders (in that case discount is negligible anyway) why would you not pay full price

        • You can get 10% off from mobile, as low as $25. Its a cheaper Everyday Extra plus a free phone plan on top of it.

Personally, I'm fine with one big $400-ish shop a month to stock up on stuff. Other than that I mostly need to buy produce which I prefer to do every 3-5 days and spend under $100.

    • +2

$70 per year or $7 a month. Waiting for a discounted price as well.

  • +2

Thanks for this. Used to always use the 10% online and then in store until they patched it

  • Nice one

  • +18

Nice thanks! Don't forget to add your 800g whole barramundi and 340g of salmon fillets to maximise the free extra value for online orders.

    • +4

      Can you explain why? Thanks

    • +12

If only it was in store too… could save another 2c

      • +5

You need to go in for the C&C order so there's an opportunity…

Then you take your 2c, go to the 2c store, buy somefing else

        • Be a man! Do the right thing.

    • +1

It is 600g barra now. And salmon per 200g . I think they are on to you.

  • -4

Been doing this for a long time too (with 2x Everyday Extra accounts for 10% off just about every week), just hope they won't patch it now that it's been made public like this.

  • -3

The little loophole! Doesn’t need to be that complicated, it always work if you do an in-store shopping “after” an online one.

    • If your order is collected or delivered, I think it won’t work

      • You think or you know it? It works regardless your first online order has been completed. Even when it shows on the app that you have saved $x.xx for the month, the 10% discount will still apply for the in store purchase.

        • I never tried to use it after the online order was completed, as I didn’t want to waste the extra 10% off

          • +1

@RTY: Give it a test come to a store buying a $2 chocolate bar and tag your rewards card at the end of next month, you’ll be surprised!

            • @wasnt94: My subscription expired and I will shop at coles more often as I have too many flybuys dollars

            • @wasnt94: Have you tried it yourself recently? They patched it last year, but this hack of using again in store before collecting the online order made it still possible.

You may be confusing it with the extra 10% discount you get with Everyday Mobile if you have that.

              • @MiscOzB: Last time I did was in May when it also worked for BigW, I don’t have the mobile one. Will test it again this month and update to you guys

    • +1

I used to apply this approach but it hasn't worked in months. I think they patched it some time back.

  • I can’t believe grocery stores have a subscription service.

And people are OK with that. No wonder this economy is effed and the cost of living is so high.

    • +13

and yet people happily pay a costco membership.

It's not strange, but you are responsible for checking whether such a subscription is valuable. If it is, what's wrong with it? And if it's not, just cut it! Aint got nothing to do with cost of living.

      • You don’t think they buffer the cost into their products? You think you just get stuff for free?

        • +5

I believe it's about loyalty, they reward you for not shopping elsewhere. The true Ozbargainer hits up all supermarkets. We do Woolworths, Aldi and IGA once a week and Costco once a fortnight. Everyday Extra still saves us money over the year.

        • I can't believe people don't understand this…. there's no free lunch for anyone.

      • +1

TBH I think costco is far less scummy than Colesworth despite the membership fees.

        • +1

          Not really

The specials used to be good before they brought in that new level of membership. Now the specials are very ordinary and I really just keep the membership going for the fuel

    • +5

As long as its saving me money, im ok with it

      • +2

Corporations: As long as they think they're saving money they'll be okay with it

        • +2

But it is saving me money. Please advise how it isnt

          • +2

@jackwoz: You are saving money on an individual basis getting 10% off…but the cost of Woolies offering this discount alongside giving people 'free' Everyday Rewards would be built into the costs of all items.

            • +3

              @dantrax77:

built into the costs of all items

if you're implying that the cost is paid for by non-members, then yea sure. and also irrelevant.

Like credit card rewards, it's the same - if you got savings yourself, then do it.

            • @dantrax77: So by not getting it i wouldnt be getting the 10% meaning i would pay more.

I know what you are meaning though that the standard price in raised to offset the discounts given for people paying for the subscription. But i still would rather save money than not.

              • @jackwoz: Yeah but you realize you and others that do this to “save money” is what’s pushing the prices up in the first place?

In all your cases it’s a matter of “no single raindrop is to blame for the flood.”

If they didn’t have customers for this nonsense, they wouldn’t be jacking the prices up for everyone.

                You’re contributing to the problem.

  • Are you sure the 2nd one isn’t because you have an eligible woolies mobile phone plan as well? This used to work for me but because I have a long term phone plan it no longer works for me. But it works for my wife as she has an eligible month to month Woolies phone plan. Anyway worth trying to see if it works.

    • I’ve never used everyday mobile

    • They show up separately at the checkout, I've got both.

      • Same with Everyday Insurance - it explicitly calls out where the discount is from (Extra, Mobile, or Insurance) on the prompt.

  • +2

Wow I stopped getting the discount twice since they fixed the problem. Didn't even think of this trick!

  • What’s the price

  • Why not buy everything in the first order?

    • Only limited space in fridge, this way you can space out 2-3 weeks of groceries (in-store could be week 1 and online could be Week 2-3) and can potentially also use different catalogues - online order to lock in active catalogue pricing and in-store order for next week catalogue which you can see on Mon night.

  • +2

Nice. I knew this hack of placing an order online and shopping in-store prior it will still work, but I didn't have the brains to order 1 week in advance.
This way if I place online order on Mon night or Tue, I get current week's special price for the next week & I can leave items from next weeks' catalogue out which I can then but in-store on Wed (alongwith the week's staples like Milk and veggies).
Reminded me of people on OzB figuring out Pizza Hut cashback offers work on future orders and placing future 2 for 1 orders (which reminds me cashback is on right now for Pizza hut and I should place an order for tuesday haha)

  • +1

You should have kept this hack to yourself now Woolworths gonna patch it up.

    • +9

My subscription expired so I don’t need this hack anymore. Even if they patch it, at least more people can get the discount now. This is ozbargain, right :)

    • +1

They'll patch it now. It used to work unlimited times a month and on gift cards before it was posted here.

      • -1

Yeah OP cancelled their membership, so they don't care if it gets patched up.

But for those who kept doing it before hand gonna be hella pissed. I would be.

        • This is why I never mention the e-receipt loophole. That one’s too good to share.

      • +1

It used to work unlimited times a month.

Still remember the conversaion that was long before Covid. At that time, Woolies online shopping was not popular and there was probably no Coles online shopping.

It seems not easy to patch it as a future order may be canceled by either side, which leads to the question of "Who should be accountable for?" Otherwise, it would have been done.

Now it should be easy to understand why Coles does not accept eGC online as the bill amount can be variable, i.e. you should be charged full amount, not the discounted amount when you placed the order, as you have redeemed 10% discount this month.

  • the monthly promo code

    What's it ?

    • +1

      XAug2025

      • I subscribed to their thingy in order to get 10% off monthly, is this the code to use that 10% off online? I always wonder why can't I use it online, do they send it to email monthly? Thanks.

        • +1

Emailed at the beginning of the month. Can't be used in conjunction with some other codes. i.e. $20 off first direct to boot orders. In my case, it was more beneficial to use the $20 discount for first direct to boot then apply the 10% off later in the month.

  • +8

thank you mate. sharing is caring. if everyone kept hacks or bargains to themselves, then there would be no community

  • Legend, thanks for sharing!

  • I’ve been using this hack for a while, and it could be used 3 times: C&C, online, and in-store, until they fixed the online and in-store hack. They will probably patch this hack soon as it’s now public.

    • +3

Yet they took our Big W discount away first

      • +2

Yep, hated this. That was the last straw. Once current sub finishes, I'll cancel too

    • by online do you mean delivery? C&C is ordered online…

      • Yes, delivery, CC and in store.

  • +1

Thanks for sharing the hack! Every cent counts ;) If I place the order on Tuesday for Sunday pick up, do I get charged for the old catalogue price or the catalogue price based on the pick up day?

Btw…… off topic, anyone wonder why woolworths doesn’t stock Dark Maltesers anymore? I could only get it from Coles over the recent few months…!

    • +1

      Based on Tuesday price (old)

  • Where's the code?

  • The best hack is to copy a mates woolies staff card ..YMMV

  • Does this work because the monthly code for EE discount disappears or is no longer valid only after you pick up your c & c order? So it is still valid to use in store before you pick it up?

I haven’t shopped on line with them so I don’t know how that works.

  • +1

One account in my name, one account in wife’s, then another Cole’s account in my name and one in wife’s. Covers us for one large shop every week. Yes we pay all up $28 a month but each weekly shop is at least $300 so we have already made our money back after the first shop.

    • yea i thought about this, but juggling a few accounts to get the 2000 points for $10 off its too stressful with the constant log in and off within the apps.

  • +1

Can you use your mobile 10% off online at all anymore? I thought it swapped to instore only, and you only got the month code from everyday extras?

    • +1

Yes mobile plan 10% is in store only so it won't work for this

  • +2

Been doing this for years. Delete the post of woolworths will fix it ;)

  • +1

So you reckon this hack would work for delivery to asking as it was placed before you used it in store? Hope that makes sense?

    • Someone else will need to test it, as I live near Woolworths and never used delivery

      • I guess I’ll find out haha

  • +1

Does anyone know when the Everyday Extra Membership is on sale? Thanks

  • +1

    Code for this month

    • The code for each month is always X[mmm][yyyy]

      i.e. this month is XSEP2025

  • I missed out on using last months code, was placing the order late last night and it ticked over to 12am literally as i was putting in the CVC no. for my credit card and code got removed, expired :(

  • I've been doing this also for months.
1 Delivery/1 In-store a month, also stacks with 4% off Gift card from NRMA

    • +1

As in you schedule the deliver my for a later date but the 10% is still available in store prior?

That would answer @ Sezzabearrrrr’s question above.

  • Correct!

  • Nope doesn't work

  • It worked - brilliant!

I note that when I made the online order on Tuesday then the latest available day for pickup was the following Monday.

    • +1

Last time I tried, on Wednesday 1am, it still used old catalogue price but you can choose Tuesday

      • Interesting, it would be good to figure out at what time on Wednesday morning the WW prices flip to the new catalogue. A couple of months ago I happened to notice online prices still being the old ones on Wednesday morning at something like 6am or 7am, but I can't recall whether that was at Coles or WW.

Ordering at something like 6am would suit me better than 1am!
