    Ewaste

Theres a certain element of convenience in having a smaller powerbank that can also plug into any wall outlet to charge itself.

        smaller powerbank

Are we looking at the same powerbank? :P (This one looks about 4x bigger than my 5k powebank, and probably as bulky as some 10k ones!)

Personally, I'd rather take a much slimmer powerbank, along with an Anker 511. Sure, the Anker 511 is larger than the power adapter on this - but the overall combo is still going to be more compact, and that part of the combo is more likely to be in a bag anyway, rather than in the pocket / held like the powerbank will be. Plus, the seperate powerbank and charger have more flexibility in being used seperately!

I know which combo I would prefer! :)

Each their own, of course! (I'm not bagging the deal, or your comment - and calling it "e-waste" is overly harsh, I agree.)

          ‘Big hands’ syndrome 😅

5k i assume it means 5000mah as a powerbank? lol how is this a deal??

  • I remember thinking this was novel and clever when it was first announced back in the day… But lo and behold what I look for in a modern power bank has evolved making this one not particularly useful in either the small portable MagSafe or the huge with lots of capacity and high PD or 100w.

Doesn't really work well as a powerbank due to tiny capacity, doesn't really work well as a charger due to a limit of 20W and a maximum of 9V, is pretty darn chonky because both components are squashed together into one, zero carrying flexibility because again everything is squashed into one, a set of adapters that can be lost fairly easily, battery gets heated up whenever the charger is in use which leads to a much shorter lifespan (i.e. built-in obsolescence)…

Yeah, no wonder this thing is on clearance. It sounds like a novel idea, but is really just e-waste.

I use this for travel and its great, especially at this price. This unit isn't trying to be a large 25k powerbank that can charge your laptop at 65w.

These are great when going overseas as you can change the wall plug on the fly and use the local GPO's for whatever country you're travelling to. They also fit easily inside your carry on bag and you have the ability to use your bag's USB ports if your carry on bag has the ports.

I also have a 25k bank when required, however this 5k hybrid unit just brings so much convenience.

Not sure why it's getting so much hate at this price.

  • Even the picture is off, looks like the devices were placed by .. photoshop 🙂

  • I'm guessing this would make for a bad wall charger to use permanently fixed to the wall, or is there a way to disengage the battery?

Leaving it plugged in and on at 100% and warm all the time will just kill the useful life of it.

    • guessing this would make for a bad wall charger to use permanently fixed to the wall

it absolutely would be a bad idea for that use but why would you want to there's a lot of good options around in this price range

    • two ugreen (pop brand) with similar specs for less than $30 delivered in this deal

Just picked one up. It's (obviously) heavier than you'd expect for a charger - about 185g but compared to my 10K powerbank at 220g + 30w MacBook charger at 110g I guess it's lightweight.

It has the CCC mark for China airlines.

I am surprised this has CCC mark as this isn't marketed for China. Would you mind sharing a picture?
I am interested in getting one.

  • I’m seeing a lot of hate for this product. Can anyone suggest another travel adapter from a decent brand around the same price?
