Differences in PLA, PLA+, PLA 2.0, PLA Classic, Matte PLA…
  • Sunlu has ratings for each filament but they all have different visual appearances.
  • This is still a work in progress
  • link images if you want to share samples
Filament Recommendations:
  • Matte PLA hides layer lines extremely well
  • Marble PLA for items around the house
  • PLA Classic - slightly matte, and opaque
Will it work with Bambu?

For those in WA, check out the Creality filament listings
    - combine with AUCREALIND25

  • Do these work in the AMS 1 unit as is, or do i need an adapter or different spool?

    • +1

      Yes, no issue with AMS1

Only need spool adapters for AMS Lite. Alternatively, feed from a dryer box.

    • These are awesome suggestions, will be printing most of these. Thanks for the share!
Recently grabbed a P1S and inspiration is exactly what I need.

If you have a substantial Lego collection and have the Ikea ALEX drawers or the Ikea SALMA 5/11L storage tubs Tiago Catarino has a variety of Lego specific inserts that take full advantage of the spaces inside while having enough dividers to organize Lego pieces in a variety of groups.

      • nice, had a few kids birthday parties recently and gifted them lego speed champion. Printed out stands for them to make it different.

  • Can you mix colours and materials?

    • yes

  • Thanks OP! FYI if 10 rolls is too much, the JAYO-3D 5 rolls (buy 3 and get 2 free) is the same 40% saving.

PETG black is also out of stock at JAYO, so I'm going to buy the Sunlu version even though it's 0.1kg less and a little more expensive.

    • did you check all of the store listings?

you can also check PETG HF or my pick PETG Matte HS

Be aware though prices per roll for the "Buy 5 Pay 3" listing is more than in the "Buy 10 Pay 6" listing, so it isn't quite the same. At least that was the case for the filament types I was interested in.

  • Whats everyone thoughts in the Flashforge Adventurer 5X ?

Looking at buying my first 3d printer

    • Anycubic Kobra S1 is $730
      - fully enclosed
      - ACE filament changer is also a dryer
      - been out long enough that bugs have been fixed and community has released print mods

A5x at $479.20 (ebay SPRINGCBT code) is great value though with the built in changer.
      - Could buy separate dryer when needed
      - separate enclosure probably available if needed

  • I've just run into an interesting problem with my previous order - it turns out the Jayo 500g plastic spools are somewhat incompatible with the Bambu AMS 2 Pro.

I'm currently trying to dry a spool of TPU, and I can't put it in the centre of any of the AMS slots, as it clashes with the filament feed mechanism - the diameter is pretty well the same as the bambu spools, so spool adapters to increase size aren't going to help.

At the moment, I'm have a shot at straddling the spool across the two middle slots - if it turns during drying, this will do as an interim solution.

However, I'd like a more practical solution that hopefully doesn't require a respooler - which I was hoping to put off printing for a while to come. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
