500/525 = 0.9524
0.9524 - 1 = -0.0476
0.0476 * 100 = 4.76%Since it is negative, it's a discount

Regular Ampol at 6% or greater is better than EG at 5%. (and EG isnt in this 5% promo)

I think the previous commenter was actually referring to the fact that EG eGift Cards can apparently can still be redeemed at EG Ampol, Woolworths, BIG W, etc.
Of course, Woolworths Group could close this loophole at any time…

Redeemed EG eGC at Woolworths supermarket on 23/08. Still working, though I'm out of them now.
This recent SB Westpac example offered 2+4% on Woolworths and 1+5% on EG (which also work in Woolworths). There are similar bonus offers every once in a while.
Isn’t there a risk that it doesn’t track? I’d rather a guaranteed 4.76% than a risky 5%
It's pretty much impossible for it not to track. Gift card purchases are done entirely within the app, there's no external website to link to.

Do you get rewards points?
When you use the gift card at Woolies you get points for whatever groceries you are buying, but not for buying it.
Just a heads up, this link to this promotion does not work if you've got the new member portal landing page. Just takes you to the regular '3/4/5% off' cards. No 5% bonus value to be seen.
Log out and try again or use incognito browser. This 5% bonus value offer has never stacked with the ongoing 3/4/5% discounts, as far as I'm aware.
Trying to buy them via rewards app results in an error atm with saying the bank has declined the payment via card. Tried two different cards so reckon it’s a rewards error rather than one of the bank…

Does anyone know how to PREVENT the Woolworths iOS app from automatically launching on my iPhone every time I click on Browser page? It's infuriating that I have to delete the app in order to stop it auto opening.

On Android it's in the App settings so it's very easy to disable, not sure if there's a similar setting on iOS. I don't use iPhone so can't check.
