Thanks! Ordered for $17.09 pick up. They seem to get decent reviews for basic DIY

      • seem to get decent reviews

I've had the pipe wrench for about a year, it's a good tool.

      • +1

More than basic. They are not cheese metal these has harden jaws. The hinges got no play, they are not butter smooth but much better than loosey goosey fit. The jaws also match properly.

I got mine few years before covid not sure if the new ones have the same spec.

A must have for every debt collector.

    • "Are you serious? Where did you get those relics from?"
I know no one likes a back seat torturer.

Thanks OP, didn't need it but bought anyway

This is a good set. I bought this set 30 years ago in 1995 and it still works. I just spray a little bit of WD 40 on the hinges every decade and it becomes smooth. I entirely expect this to last another 50 - 100 years.

If they ever break, use the lifetime warranty and let us know how it goes, preferably with a picture of the look on the rep's face when you tell them how old it is.

      • Toolpro tools have a 3 year warranty, Tool pro X tools have a lifetime warranty.

        • +2

Product page says these have a lifetime warranty.

          • @umexcuseme: Yeah, I just saw that. Odd.

            • +3

@MeagerDollarBucks: The length of the warranty is based on the type of product.

@MorriJ: 1 year warranty for jack stands, bit of a concern considering the consequences of failure.

@umexcuseme: I just want to see the fight with the ACCC when they don’t honour the refund or replacement.

          • @umexcuseme: Item lifetime or user lifetime?

    • +1

Do you set a reminder for each decade? Just curious. And any rust?

      • +1

a little bit of surface rust but could just need to be lightly sanded and cleaned.

    • So no need to spend extra on Wiha, Knippix or Wera then?

      • Big regret on price I paid for Knipex set (past OZB deal) relative to this one, but the Knipex work brilliantly, and dare I say I like the red and blue colour scheme (could be buyer's remorse bias).

      • I'd have to say buying my first and only Knipex 3 years ago when seeing a deal here, was possibly the single best tool purchase I have ever made, and as non-ozbargain as it sounds I would pay full retail in a heart beat.

They are my go to pliers for numerous jobs, a completely better design altogether, they geniuienly make so many jobs much easier or even possible (great grip on things). The ones I have are the KNIPEX 82 02 200, I've since bought them for family to have too - great Christmas or Birthday present for the right person. Not that dear either

      • Only Knipex thing I have is a pliers wrench. It's the best thing in the world. Not just an awesome tool but even the feel of it is amazing.

Super expensive in Oz though, unfortunately.

      • Knippex is mostly still very good but Wiha and Wera are very hit and miss now. Wiha often made in Vietnam and my Wera screwdriver set rusted in under 1 year, and it was kept in my carpeted computer room. These days, if you want a high quality tool, you have to research each type individually.

    No stock locally in Sydney

  • Thanks Op. Code didn't work but still a good price. Not heaps of stock around Melbourne but still some.

  • Just picked mine up. Totally impressed with the quality considering the price!

    Ozbargained! None in sydney

    • Yep. None left in Sydney. Bugger

  • none showing in stock at any stores however online still taking orders so i took a punt. I purchased 4 sets, i am sick of an ongoing argument i have with myself as to where pliers should live. A new set for the inside tool kit, one for the 3d printer, one for the main workshop, one for the main tool box that goes out of the house.

  • I have left most plier from different brand. For DIY home usage whats the use case for other 3 pliers?

    • Cutting zip clips, pulling out things in small crevices, undoing tight hose fittings, too many uses to name for the serious diyer

  • Smaller than I expected
