Saw a banner at checkout offering $5 promotion credits by making PayTo the default payment method on Amazon. The link to the promotion page seems to be broken and leads to a blank page but I got the credits right after following the prompts so might be worth trying out. No purchase required.

    No luck for me

  • Just be careful with Payto with Amazon. My bank held up the payment due to fraud protection. When the bank unblocked the transaction, it went into Amazon's account and wasnt tracked. Had to deal with Amazon staff from countries that didnt know about Payto and thought all payments were done by card. It was a nightmare to get my cash back.

  • So this doesn't involve any payment or taking any money out of my bank account, even a test amount?

  • I think this is targeted, I just went into mine and couldn't get it to bring up any mention of discount when doing checkout, or looking at the PayTo stuff

Just found this on mine, go to https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/cart/view.html?ref_=nav_cart and keep refreshing until you see the banner, then click 'change now'.

Your payment method was successfully set as default. The $5 promotional credit is immediately available on your Amazon account and will automatically be applied at checkout.

    • Tried a bunch of times and only got offered VISAFIVE or AFTERPAY10.

      • Do you already have PayTo linked on your account? That might have triggered it for me, I have PayTo linked, but not set as the default.

Same as you, linked but never been set to default.

          • @Ezio: Update: Checked again today and it offered me the $5 credit.

  • Noticed this today on mobile, found the blank page as described above so still not fixed 10 days later, changed my default which resulted in an email saying I got the promo credit but it didn't actually change my default payment method and keeps showing me the option to change it, but when selected again it says I'm not eligible.

Credit didn't appear immediately until I selected payto as a payment method, then it appeared and was usable and also appears usable now when not using payto.

A badly stitched together and barely / poorly tested promotion it seems, but it does work. YMMV, good luck!
