Nah, that's pricey for a soap holder. There are really good bamboo soap holders from Coles or Woolies or the Reject Shop selling for like $3

these become mouldy within weeks.
Well, yes. These are real bamboo.
Do you mean Dollarama???
My hot take is: that name won’t work for Australians.
I've tried a few bamboo ones and they go mouldy due to being slightly pourous and sitting on the shower ledge. I prefer these plastic ones as they're easier to clean (if you have a bamboo grate style one) and no mould issues.
I support this - The amount of silly little household things made of plastic is crazy!
And when it cracks or breaks, it's just thrown out, and a new plastic thing is bought…
For those that feel a little more handy - You can make a great looking soap holder out of scrap wood.
Just cut up a bunch of strips roughly 1cm wide…
Then cut two more slightly longer than all the other strips…
Put the two longer ones down parallel, and glue the others along the top perpendicular to the first two, leaving gaps for the soapy run-off… Hell, you don't even need it to be neat or perfect - That rustic look is the in-thing nowadays.
how to avoid mould or fungal build up?
The same way you treat other wooden kitchen tools like chopping boards: oil or wax treatments.
These would be cheaper on Temu
Is there anything like this but for sponges.
Or a larger longer one for soap bottles in the bathroom
Perfect candidate for a 3d print
Anyone got a good 3d print of a kitchen sponge drain that spouts directly into the sink? Most just collect the water which needs to be emptied.
my mum just use a tofu tub for the same purpose…
its cheaper with delicious dish for the night LOL

Bought a Joseph Joseph toothbrush holder and it lasted me about 6mths. Not because it was bad quality but every 2-3 weeks, I'd have to take it apart and clean the mould from the bottom of it. I ended up drilling holes at the bottom hoping it would drain out any excess water but those holes ended up with mould too.
In the end, I just got rid of it and bought these plastic toothbrush holders that you stick onto the wall. They occasionally get mould too but because they are open, it's so much easier to clean and dries much more quickly
Sounds like a bathroom ventilation problem.
The holder is basically just a cup and over time, unless you drain it, that moisture will turn to mould.
I'm talking about your "plastic toothbrush holders that you stick onto the wall" also getting mould. That shouldn't really happen.
@ozbs25: We don't have the best ventilation in our bathroom but we only get signs of mould once every couple of months and as soon as we see it, we get rid of it. The fact that it's in the open, as opposed to being at the bottom of a cup that you have to inspect, it's just a lot easier and quicker to clean.
Doesn’t this solution just move the problem of excess water from the holder to the bathroom bench?
Where it was placed, it would drain out into the sink. Which it did but there would still be some moisture left which is where mould would grow
I throw my toothbrush holder through the washing machine regularly. Mould can impregnate surfaces easily, so it can be challenging to kill without the right chemicals (which most people have at home). Also, try wiping your toothbrush on a towel to dry it before storing it.
What is in this Brand and why there is lot of interest?
Over priced and over hyped imho
sounds like Apple Apple
Been waiting for this to come down in price but now that I look at it more closely it looks a little small. Wonder if the soap we use will fit.
I bought this a while ago, hold normal size soap. Good for bench, ok for shower. No drainage hole.
The item is out of stock, but it looks like I can still place an order. Does that mean it's a backorder? I placed an order anyway. I'll see what happens.
Yeah, it won't charge your credit card until it ships and you can cancel anytime if it takes too long or change your mind.
thanks op, grabbed one
Seems to be out of stock. I can't place a backorder either
No free shipping with Big W unfortunately
