How's this better than the $6 Bunnings camping folding chair?

    • +2

      Size and weight.

      • -4

This better be sizable and weightable as hell given the pricing

Are you being facetious or purposely ignoring the dimensions clearly posted. $100 is not a lot of money to spend on a decent camp chair - these are designed for portability.

@Hinee: $100 is a hell lot of money to spend on a folding camping chair

@marshmall0w2: if you look at the market it really isn't.

The bunnings chairs are ok for what they cost but have seen way too many thrown in a fire or sitting at the bins out the front of a campsite after breaking.

              • @GUYANDSON: but this one isnt really competitive with other lightweight chairs leaving it in the middle of being expensive but not really that light and small

@marshmall0w2: Carry one for longer than 500m and tell me which one you prefer

    • Nice catch - though there was $6.95 delivery on that one.

    $66.95 (Was $129.95 $49.95)

  • If you're not too heavy then aldi do them for $20 or so every now and then. Saw a 90kg+ lady used them at kids weekend sport and it survive just fine (legs might sink into ground tho)

    The markup is ridonkulous!

  • Aldi had similar for $29. They’re pretty good too.

    • Got the aldi one - they are good but the packup of this one looks to be a lot easier. Mind you these are also over 1kg, and the aldi one is 900gm too…. The main thing is 130kg vs 90kg on the aldi model.

      • The aldi one is 125kg or so.

How does this chair compare against something like this (for $49): https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/camp-furniture…

Both seem very similar, in design and weight capacity. Only difference I can gather is how they're setup, the Mountain Designs (Anaconda) one uses an elastic-rope-like approach to connect the legs whereas the Uquip one seems to be screw on?
