Sending Large Heavy Parcels to The Philippines

Greetings OzBers,

I would like to know if anyone knows of a cost-effective way to send large heavy parcels from Australia to the Philippines; specifically Iligan City, near Cagayan. I do not care how long the parcels take to get there, so I assume sea-mail would be the way to go.

      Dear Sir Dumax,

This is absolutely excellent; exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very kindly for your time/this info. I did make decent efforts to locate something like this via Google myself, but could only locate mobs charging at least double what "Balikbayan Box" are charging, for way smaller parcels. You are a legend, thanks again.

By the way, have you used this service/do you know if the parcels tend to actually arrive?

We've used LBC at least a few times a year. They are a big logistics company in the Philippines

As for reliability there is a certain risk with sea cargo being lost or pilfered (especially on the other side) etc. So nothing too valuable and nothing too critical.
Time frames can even be 2-4 months

        • Thank you so much for your time, and this info pao.

I assume you are referring to these guys:

          https://www.lbcexpress.com/rates

May I ask, how have your experiences with them been? I do not care how many months the parcel takes to get there, as long as it does actually eventually get there … lol.

          • @GnarlyKnuckles: yes they are pretty good. there will always be tales of lost and pilfered boxes no matter what company

The only company I can recommend is https://forexcargo.com.au

    Prcing: https://www.forexcargo.com.au/services/sea-freight/rates

Used them before pandemic, no issues.Had a coworker who used it often, and they always said they were cheap and reliable for her too.

Also, regardless of who you choose, take care in the way it is packed, especially on the outside. Try not to use clear or packing tape.. It is not unusual for Philippines customs to loot stuff on their end and reseal the box like it was never opened. Im lucky to have some tamper proof tape around, but even if you don't, id still try to make the box look like it isnt worth opening. ,

    • Thank you for your input/advice.

  • I think he wants this type of shipping https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtwHsj7P4MQ
