These filament dryers are quite popular recently when being cleared out at Jaycar for a bit more.

Not really required for PLA, but I found it useful for PLA Silks.

You must not live in QLD. :)

    Is it a SoundBlaster?

    • Gotta get those sound cards too

    • I thought it was retro soundblaster speakers!

  • Is this useful for some one in Melbourne who primarily prints in PLA?

    • +1

Most PLA you won’t really need it.

If you have any silk PLA it’s a good idea to have one.

Although if you take awhile to get through your spools it can help prolong the shelf life of regular PLA

PLA is mostly fine but venture into PETG and you'll want a drier.

PETG is just as easy to print with as PLA but has different materials properties which are beneficial in many situations like outdoors exposed to sun/heat.

      • @jrjr @impoze thank you for your insights I will stick to PLA for the moment as Im just starting out.

  • Not sure if I need one of these since I already have a ace pro with my kobra 3 v2 (it might be useful to dry 1 filament separately when printing with the ace pro)?

    • Probably not, unless you want to be able to dry different materials at the same time

E.g. PLA at 50c and PETG at 60c

  • What games can it play ?

      Duke Nukem 3D

That's the ugliest case ive ever seen. Guaranteed way to stay a virgin

Damn, that's where I've been going wrong. I didn't realise the chicks would judge me so harshly on how I chose to dry filament.

    • So not buying this will get me the ladies. Got it

  • Make biltong in the offseason

    What I see…
    1 spool is $105 - 20% = $84.00 (not $73.60)
    2 spool is $149 - 20% = $119.20 ($100.80)
    ?

    • Ditto

Looking at the revisions on their ebay page they jacked the price up at 10:44am.

If you have ebay plus, SNSPLUS code makes the 2 spool from another seller $107.24 delivered
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/277340769938

    • Ugh JACKED already!

      • It's been jacked again
Now $186 for the 2 spool

  • This is pure jack up the price then offer a discount BS. Normal price when I bought mine was $87

Unless you really need that extra 15 degrees of heat it's hard to justify the price. Better off with 2 x Pi Plus and you've still got the option to run 2 different heat settings.

The Sunlu S4 can also be had for under $200 though all one temp and 70C max.

Pi X4 for $223.20 here though before they jack that one too

View (while logged in) and wait. During Plus weekend they jacked the price but sent an offer (20% off might have been), which after the plus voucher got me the Pi Plus for $92.

    Price us back to 100

    • I already marked it expired from the 7th when they jacked it up 2 hours after posting.

Looks like they jacked it up even more

      • I just purchased one yesterday for 100. Looks like they jacked it up again.
