      yes
points devalued on most airline partners programs
while qantas FF and Virgin velocity conversion rates remains (2:1)
both qantas and virgin have recently devalued their points on rewards tickets

      • -1

I just use the points for gift cards…

Looks like soon, will be able to use points for Woolies, Big W and Ampol purchases.

      • both qantas and virgin have recently devalued their points

        only for some flights.

  • I know it’s rare to see KrisFlyer bonus when converting points/miles, but I’m hoping to see one soon.

      bonus via virgin

    • Same here!! Although have a feeling it's going to be discounted KF points needed for flight redemption rather than bonus points promo…

Pretty sad to lose the amazon benefit, hopefully they replace with something else.

    • Half price OnePass!

  • I mean it was is more of a flex card anyway rather than good value for most people

      Still great value for me.

Yes Amazon prime ending hurts but this deval doesn't affect me otherwise

      Restaurant credit extended for 2026

      • Oh good

      • Sure but that's why I said most people and not all people… a lot of people I know of, rarely get even $1k value out of it, e.g. 1x international trip for 2 is 4 lounge passes which is worth may be $300 - $400 (~$150 + ~$50 per visit this can be free too with a lot of credit cards) and maybe a $800 in hotels inc. travel credit, (but generally have poor experiences with Accor).

Obviously if you have a high spend (e.g. my previous employer had a white goods business with monthly spend in excess of $50k pw in spending) and are smart with this it's not too hard to get good value but usually for someone like us who travels once a year internationally that too to visit/ stay with our family overseas, generally buy items in cash from FB/ Gumtree, we're better off with cheaper priced credit cards.

    • I only use Virgin/Qantas, it is phenomenal value I doubt you can get better value from any other card if you have high spend.

  • Looks like business platinum cards remain unaffected:

** Airline redemption rate changes are not applicable for Card Members enrolled in the following Membership Rewards Tiers: Business Ascent, Corporate Choices, Corporate Membership Rewards, Spirit and Corporate Spirit

    • You would hope so - the business version is more expensive than the personal card.

  • Anyone know if the priority pass access is changing? It is currently primary + 1 additional card holder (total of 4 people into the lounges per visit). Now all the writing just states the primary card member.

Edit: seems to still show on this page, but not on the main Platinum card page nor the explore benefits page.

    • its still in the T&Cs of the platinum charge page: https://ibb.co/RGX730Jq

      • Let’s hope it’s not getting changed. Although it’s in the T&Cs, it now says primary card specifically on the Platinum page and on the card benefits page.

The problem with this is the fact that the card became mainstream, an influencer/tiktok thing with a lot more people getting the card. I also think they approve more easily. I recall waiting in the line for a lounge when there was a dozen of people trying to get in using Amex as well.

This, combined with the aeroplan being mostly downgraded to economy in flights (and for some reason everything is Thai airways), has made the whole points game subpar. (Not to mention Air Canada suing seats.aero)

Any ideas how to strategically use/move the points and what to move on to?

    • Yeah they need to either increase the minimum income or increase the annual fee to reduce the number of people with the card and as such the queues at the lounges.

  • There are material changes to the accor plus benefit too which is a good chunk of the value out of the platinum charge.

They've upped the complementary night from 1 to 2, but you now have to book a paid night to use it. So no more outright 1 free night. IMHO a downgrade.

    Gold instead of silver. Meh

15% off rates instead of 10% off. Meh.

A flat 30% dining discount instead of a variable 10-50% off. BOOOOO this sucks since most people who take advantage of this make full use of the 50% benefit.

    • Gold instead of silver. Meh

15% off rates instead of 10% off. Meh.

I think these 2 isn't bad, gold tier comes with room upgrade
15% off RRP are usually better than most 3rd party sites like agoda, booking.com or hotels.com

      • It can be hit and miss; genius level 2 is easy to achieve for booking.com and that also comes with a 10-15% discount as well as comp breakfast & upgrade. And not limited to accor properties. I genuinely try to take advantage of the accor discounts but find it often not that competitive.

E.g. last month i was in sydney for 4 nights; mercure and novotel were about 900 bucks via accor plus. Ended up going with rydges world square instead via booking.com and ended up with comp breakfast & airport ride for similar money.

  • Used my accor plus membership to get another $50 of value during dinner last night, one of the best perks and will be sad when they downgrade it.
