I’m looking to buy one second had, and AliExpress show up all the time on a google search. I’ve really just skipped past, but now I’m wondering if maybe it’s worth some research. Thanks for may genuine feedback.

Plenty of reviews on these things, heaps of people have done YouTube videos on the reality of it. Have you done any research?

        Mini excavators cost cents, cheers!

  • Some Canadian Ebike importer now sells Ali electric excavators. Should find his tubes.

  • Yeah, you’re not getting a mini excavator for $1,999 with free postage sent to your door, A majority of these are scams. They will be from “Store29388472828” with zero sales and one review with something like “paid for this but it never arrived” or, what you are going to get is a tin sign with a photo printed on it of the excavator or a miniature model of the excavator.

I'm not sure you are correct that they are complete frauds.

But that said, there are two things that you notice in these ads.

The first is that they say that while they state that its free shipping, they do warn that there are a lot of additional shipping-related costs. They only ship it to the nearest port. You are responsible for everything else.

The second is the biggie. That the listed price is only the DEPOSIT you have to pay up front. And its only 20% of the final price.

The fantastic price the machine is listed at is to get you to contact them, then when you do you find out what it really costs.

      • Thanks for that information, it’s very helpful.

  • They had generators for like $15 which included delivery so I thought what the heck. Ended up with a miniature Phillips screwdriver 🪛. Well I paid with PayPal and when I logged a complaint had my payment refunded within half an hour and scored a free screwdriver 😜

    • Thankyou. This is what I’m thinking. I’ll get a miniature ride on kids toy.

We got this off Alibaba, we first seen it on Ali Express. We have had it since July. Gets used once a week for about an hour and has been good so far. I have a mechanic and a handy team so if anything goes wrong with it we will be pretty right to fix it. If you're not handy I would stay away from importing direct from China as some sellers supply very little after sales service. Even the ones that do supply help, its generally very limited, broken English instructions.

    • Thanks for info, I appreciate you taking the time to help me out. Was there a big difference in advertised price and what you actually paid? And how did you receive it? Picked it up yourself from the port of agent or delivered to you?

      • +1

All up including the machine, sea freight and local port charges it came to $3400AUD. For this item i choose to pick it up from the freight forwarded at Botany. I have in the past for previous imports had door delivery but it extends the delivery time frame and cost however door delivery is one less thing you have to do. Whilst the item was largish in its crate, it fitted into my trailer and I have a forklift so was easy for us to unload.

  • Another possible expense you may have to pay. S/H earthmoving equipment and similar items from overseas must be inspected for remnants of soil and/or organic matter, and may possibly have to be steam or otherwise cleaned by customs or their agent at outrageous cost before you can take delivery.
