Seems like a decent price to me. Product of China.

Water, Salt, Soybeans (9%), Flavour Enhancer (621, 631, 627), Wheat, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Colour (150a), Preservative (202), Sweetener (955). Contains Soybeans, Wheat.

Yuck, sucralose. What's the point of putting in the HFCS if you're going to use sucralose anyway?

As an Asian - LKK gold is a scam - only 9% soy beans. LKK Premium soy sauce is where the benchmark is, and gold is below par full of chemicals. For reference Premium: Water, Soybeans (17.5%), Salt, Sugar, Wheat Flour.

      will avoid then.

      • +5

Get the ones from Taiwan. Much higher soya bean content.

    • +3

Pearl River Bridge, which is also stocked at Woolworths, has 30% soybeans (gold label) or 29% soybeans (regular / silver label).

    • Yes, but a lot more OZBers upvoted when it was $3.25.

    • wait gold $13 normally is crap and premium normally $9 50 is the good one?

      life is confusing

      • 9.50 is how much it’s at in Chinese supermarkets, so I guess they’re price matching permanently.

I just checked the cheap Coles branded 1.8L premium soy sauce and it has 22% soybeans for $7.50. I didn't know it was decent quality.

      • coles been coming out with some premium stuff lately

      • Coles has a soy sauce? that's just so weird

fresh soy brewed on the beaches of bondi

      • I've been using this (everyday) for a few years. Put a dab of it on your tongue and mix it with saliva… it gives off a nice caramel taste. Weird but nice. :)

      • Came to say this. As an Asian - this stuff is legit.

Terrible soy. There are ones with just soy bean. This has crazy amount of crap.

  • +1

Him: I just want soy sauce that tastes like real soy sauce.
Her: This tastes like full flavoured soy sauce, and only 9% soybeans.

  • +13

Me : hey that's the soy sauce I have at home! Maybe I'll buy some

Ozb : THIS SOY SAUCE ACTUALLY SUCKS SHIT IF YOU EAT IT YOURE LITERALLY DYING

    • +2

      Cancer, you forgot about cancer

    • Go to your local Asian supermarket, they should have Japanese ones that's about $3 more than this and no other additives. You'll still die if you drink it all in one sitting and commit Seppuku afterwards

      • Yamasa can be cheaper than LKK when they are on special

      • What brand is good?

        • +1

Yamasa is my go to but honestly they're all pretty good

          • @SpicyPeanut: Thanks!

            • @keeperofthegood: Kikkoman, Shoda and Yamasa are all quite similar.

The main thing is that the ingredients should be just soya beans, wheat, salt and water (the label may also say "contains alcohol" which isn't an additive, it's a byproduct of the brewing process).

    Seems like a decent price

    Kum again?

  • Kikkoman 2lt is $10.99 at Costco and from memory the Lee Kumm Kee premium 1.75lt is around $8.99.

    • Correct regarding Kikkoman just purchased today.

  • -1

Agree, get Kikkoman at least, not this cheap crap.
Better yet, I get tamari sauce.
