Literally a 3d printer extruder head, you can think of it as a 'fine' hot glue gun.
Just be very cautious if you are gifting this to a junior, the extrusion head is above 200 degrees Celsius.
Just noticed that these use low temp tip, basically a thermal insulator tip. But, they require special material filaments, not compatible with normal spools of 3d printer filament

thank you, note that the filament packs are also on sale. ($5 down from $41 if that is an accurate representation of normal RRP)

I found if you get 4 it's the optimal amount in terms of shipping. Rises significantly with 5.

Hopefully a nice little beginner friendly entry into architectural model building.

    • Those filament packs are sold out!

  • What size filament is used? Can i use my 3d printer filament in this?

    • +1

Looks to be 1.75mm from the included filament.
Should be fine with what you have at home assuming you have a "standard" filament based 3d printer.

most likely not as your PLA 3d printer filament temp range is around 180 degrees.
This pen only goes up to 95 degree which is enough to only soften the filament, won't be enough to melt it properly.
I recommend getting another. A cheap one on ebay.
      Something like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313976607532
With working temp 180-220 for PLA.

      Spec for the iSun3d pen:
      Model Number: iSUN3d LTP4.0

      Use: 3D Pen, DIY Drawing

      Printing Nozzle: 0.6mm

      Refills: eMate-PCL

      Filament Diameter: 1.75mm

      Power: 5V-2A

      Working Temperature: 75-95°C

      Tip Temperature: ~25°C

      • Thanks. This is cheaper when factoring shipping cost.

      • I just received mine, and surprise, surprise, the power adapter is illegal in Australia.

  • would have got, except for the low melting point plastic that is required. If it worked for PLA as used in 3d printers, would have jumped at this.
with that very uncommon filament being needed, my guess is that many of these will very quickly become e-waste, even if as Dealr suggests a bundle of the filament packs are got at the same time.
this is just my opinion, YMMV

    • Working Temperature: 75-95°C

It is really amazing to see how this 3D pen was operating at such a low temperature. Even if you choose to use the 3D pen on your own skin (which we actually tried), you would barely feel a thing. The working temperature in the pen is between 75° and 95°C, but the temperature of the tip only gets up to around 25°C, so it doesn’t get hot enough to be considered harmful. Therefore, this makes the pen perfect for young children to use. It also shuts off and cools down while idle.

Requires eSUN eMate Low Temperature filament
