This is on optus network to save some a click if anyone hates them like myself 😁

Thanks for this! First thing I wanted to know was if it was Vodafone. Went with Kogan mobile for a year (Vodafone) - never again. Actually had very good experience with Optus connectivity through Circles, AGL, Catch etc. Telstra would still be the best though, however fewer deals

Same here but they’re the best in my area :/

I think it’s time that OzBargain either appends the core network provider as a tag to any SIM deal like this or enforces user to put that details in main description. Something like Amazon Prime free/$59 spend by default.

roaming didnt work me in Japan even though i purchased the addon. didnt even get incoming sms

    • same… so dumb.

when i had telstra, didnt even need an addon, wifi calling and sms came through while in japan.

    • I’m using Catch which rebranded to OnePass Mobile and got incoming roaming sms for free at multiple countries. Is Japan on some weird exclusion list?

      • Just in case it helps - every country uses different network frequencies and bands, but USA and Japan are very different to the rest of the world. An iPhone 15 (for example) sold here will have different chips inside to an iPhone 15 sold in Japan even though they are both called iPhone15. This is known as the country or region variant.
Most phones will have enough overlap in the chips inside and the network in that country to get some service, but not always, and its further complicated by each network buying different spectrums so you may find the roaming partner One Pass/Optus use doesn't work whereas the roaming partner Telstra uses in that country does work, or vice versa.

I was with OnePass and was able to receive messages when I was in New Caledonia and Malaysia last month without purchasing any add-ons.

    • Same when I was in Bali last month, I wonder if there are more places they cover without charging us (or I wonder if it is just a loophole they haven't closed yet)

I'm with Kogan Vodafone now, is Optus better? Telstra is way too expensive.

    • Telstra > Optus > Vodafone

      • Do you think Optus + Vodafone > Telstra?

  • Good price but hell i hate giving money to optus. This or black friday?

I’m waiting. I paid $99 or something for my last Catch mobile plan and rather not pay an extra 50% this year…

Yeah same, mine expires end of Oct so it must have been a pre-BF sale when I got it. Really need to find something soon, or maybe I'll just port to a cheap Lebara SIM for a month and wait for BF sales.

        • What was the sim prepaid plan? Thinking the same. Expiring end of October and on this $149 plan from last year.

@ShireBarrrgainnns: The one I am on now is the $150 120GB 365 Day Plan from Catch Connect, but it was on sale for either $99 or $109, something like that.

  • "Offer ends 30/09/2025", can we buy now and activate in October ?

    • +1

October 2026 yes, October 2027 no.

My Onepass mobile annual plan expires on 11/10/25. I paid $109 last year for 120Gb (more than I need). I received an email yesterday saying that if I renewed before that date, I would get 25% discount. That works out to a renewal of $112.50 (based on the current price of $150)

    • That actually sounds like a good deal, I'll keep an eye out for the email.
