Hi guys, quick question.
I have been using Meguiar's Ultimate Wash and Wax on my car but water just does not bead off? Anyone else experience this?
Thanks!

Can you share your routine pls?
I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
:)
Sorry, car wash routine I meant
@Pbm33: i drive to my local car wash cafe, i give them $50 and they wash my car while i watch them and i sip on a free coffee
You forgot the coffee enema.
Please. No chance.
Can you share your routine pls?
A sealant/ceramic coating will make the surface hydrophobic.
I recommend using Gyeon WetCoat which you spray on and spray off and good for approximately 4-5 months. If you use a PH Neutral soap, the coating won't be stripped as much as using a non-PH neutral soap.
Yes. To get water beading you need to use a polymer or ceramic wax product. I use the Meguiar's hybrid ceramic wax hand pad applied once a year before summer, and then Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax spray on / rinse hose off every time I wash every 2 months or so. That Gyeon WetCoat looks good I might look into it.
Wash and wax products are really no so good as its hard to do both well at the same time. By nature the waxing will inhibit the washing and vice versa.
Nope, it's not supposed to.
+1 to Gyeon Wetcoat for this purpose, or if you don't mind more work initially and a higher cost, Cancoat.
Might be a dumb question, but does Gyeon Wetcoat protect against sun damage? I park my car at the train station all day everyday outside so would like to protect against the paint fading in the Queensland sun.
I use it.
Water still beads off my car but I'm not sure if that's because it was waxed at the start of the year and the car is newish, or does it help.
If the paint surface is rough and in poor to average condition, I wouldn't expect it to bead off.
Overall it's a good shampoo and maybe better than using straight shampoo but I wouldn't expect miracles. Think about how you dilute the 'wax' in the shampoo and then you rinse it off lol
I checked my email and paid $15 for Meguiar's Ultimate Wash N Wax 1.42Ltr. So no more expensive than good shampoo. Certainly won't pay RRP of $50 today.
I've just bought some Autoglym Rapid Ceramic Spray so will try it out for the first time (after using Meguiar's Ultimate Wash and Wax)
nope
